At some point we need to starting winning a few of these battles for legitimate 3 star recruits. I know the reality of our limited resources and the perceptions of being an HBCU, but what's the point of earning all these Celebration Bowl trophies and getting national TV exposure if we can't translate that into some major victories on the recruiting trail? Our coaches have proven they can identify diamonds in the rough and develop talent. Now they need to show that they can also sell this program to bigtime recruits. BTW: This kid Brandon Marshall is a perfect example of a 3-star recruit who we should be able to sign. 247sports.com/player/brandon-marshall-46051381/He has a handful of offers including North Dakota State, Charleston Southern and Charlotte. If our coaches want to prove themselves as being above average recruiters (and not just talent identifiers and developers) then they need to be able to win these kind of battles. It's one thing to have to settle for kids that nobody else wants when you are 0-27 and have major APR issues. But when you are 3X Celebration Bowl champs, you need to be able to start getting phone numbers from the prettiest girls at the dance. Gotta upgrade our level of expectations now. Dude's committed to Mercer University in November .

Let's wait until February before assessing recruiting performance.

Dude's committed to Mercer University in November . Commitments mean nothing. If he didn't sign with anybody last month then that means he is still in play.

" how in Hale can we lose two recruits to Gardner Webb " That is easy Playing Time ! Having a winning program can work two ways. 1. You can attract Top Notch players . 2. Some recruits can not handle the waiting so they go to a program where there chances to play is better . Because when you get a 4 or 5 star Players at and HBCU there feeling is I should be playing . Also if your looking for 6' 5" to 6' 8" lineman we need to start recruiting the midwest and Great Lakes region, Minnesota , North in South , Dakota , Iowa , Wisconsin ,Montana,Illinois, New Jersey and Pittsburgh area , you want lineman that where you go .

Yes, who did GW sign that we wanted? Now of the write ups ( I saw) on the players they signed said they turned NCAT down to sign with them.

Ok guys we need to start recruiting in Charlotte, NC. the talent pool is so deep. I found this All conference Junior DE from Rocky River Highschool and if A&T jumps on him early we might can land him. I WARN YALL THIS MAN IS A BEAST www.hudl.com/profile/11467816/Kalil-Alexander

If we dont get a legit QB transfer. Our season is over!!!!! I would pump the brakes on the panic attack until we see how the QB situation looks this spring. Neither Fowler or the ECU transfer have a lot of film at this point, so it's impossible to say what they can or can not do. Keep in mind, whoever wins the starting job will have a ton of proven weapons at their disposal. All they really need to do is make the right reads, throw the ball on time or hand the ball off to Martin. We dont really need a Trevor Lawrence type of guy to make the offense work. Just get the ball to our playmakers.

I believe Trues is referring to Ty Everhart, a 6'4 receiver out of Statesville. 247sports.com/player/ty-everhart-46052335/He hasn't signed yet; but he has committed. Looks like he had two offers: us and Gardner-Webb. And for some strange reason he chose GW. This is the same GW that we outscored 90 - 9 in consecutive years, the same GW that is located in the sticks, and the same GW whose entire coaching staff is almost guaranteed to be fired after this season. Sorry folks, but that can't happen. These are the type of recruiting battles our coaches have got to win 100 percent of the time.

You can't put all of these kids in the same basket in terms of thinking. Some prefer settings that are not like A&T based on their current surroundings.

If you cant convince a kid like that to come to A&T over Gardner-freaking-Webb then you can not look in the mirror and call yourself a good recruiter.
I dont care if his momma is on the board of trustees at GW; a good recruiter is gonna convince him to come to A&T 10 times out of 10.
Granted, I'm not talking about coaching. I am just talking about recruiting.
It's like going to a gym jam and you and five other dudes have your eyes on the same pretty girl. If you are a good recruiter you are the one who's getting her number. You either got game or you don't.
In the past, A&T was the broke, wack and corny dude at the party and we just had to scoop up all the ugly ducklings that nobody else wanted ... and then try to perform an extreme makeover on them.
But now that we're rocking a clean shirt and got a fresh edge-up, we need to be getting some of the pretty girls.
