ain't too often you see a rb "walk away" from a scsu defense, but martin did it last night. dude has another gear! yeah, we've got to get him more "touches". but cartwright is still da man...

He is a great investment. However, after watching game film he will work on protecting/securing the ball. Look for him to have a big day Saturday. Cartwright is still the top running back.

yeah, against dsu i think he coughed up the football "twice" in the 2nd half. had coach broadway still been here, martin never would've saw the field again after that. but coach washington let him back in...

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards He runs lose with the ball and not tucking it when he I'd in a crowd . This is correctable all he needs to do is tuck the ball high and tight and use both hands on the ball in crowds . Tiki Barber for the Giants had to learn their techniques .

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards There are pros and cons to any coaching decision. true, but not seeing the field again stresses how important it is not to turn the ball over. that's exactly why raynard rarely ever throws int's because he learned that very lesson from coach broadway as a redshirt freshman. martin could use some of the same medicine. sure, we could afford to fumble against dsu because we had a big lead. but fumbling can cost us a game against a more worthy opponent. that lesson needs to be learned "now", not when its too late. i mean checkout cartwright? when was the last time he fumbled the football? hail, i don't recall him ever fumbling and if he did, it was so long ago that i can't remember it. that's why we're champions, we don't normally turn the ball over. you can't gloss over turnovers, turnovers are often the difference between winning and losing...

That's a good point. Our penalties this year are also on an uptick, which was something else Broadway couldn't stand.

Washington has got the penalties under control. I think we only had 5 or so at Del State and they have not had the multiple unsportsmanlike penalties the last 2 weeks.

THIS!! This is why I love that dude as a ball carrier. Cartwright is even more sure handed than Tarik was. He NEVER fumbles. I can't ever remember that dude turning the ball over. Costly turnovers are the WORSE.
