New to the show, but you have kicking problems cause of recruiting issues. My son is a five star kicker miles from A&T. He has stats from HS that would dwarf your current kicker. We have reached out to a your coaches with high interest of coming. We can't get anyone to reply. We have other D1 coaches calling and inviting for visits, but just crickets from A&T. That tells me they just take what ever shows up or it's not important to them that they have all 3 phases of the game. If what you say is accurate, that is indeed alarming. I cant imagine why any coaching staff would not jump at the chance of signing a 5 star anything, let alone a 5 star kicker. However, there is a precedent of this staff overlooking talented players in their own backyard. I had to start a thread on this site last year about a kid named Zariek Rush or else they would have never offered him a scholarship either. But let me see a link to your son's hudl videos first, before I begin to assume the worse.

I think I mentioned Howard's freshman kicker from Dudley who was a four star kicker last year whose choices came down to Ayantee and Howard....
And he was Dudley's class valedictorian.
My assumption is the staff is hesitant to yank anybody's scholarship absent misbehavior, and we already have two kickers on the team.

Yo jbw, Sorry A&T hasn't been very receptive.....but I'll tell you like I'd tell my son......YOU GO GET IT! Don't wait for them to come to you. Go to them. Have your son let them know who he is, how well he kicks, get his football coaches references, and let them know his GPA. It sucks when people aren't as receptive as they should be......but I still think it is imperative for ANYBODY who is looking for something to be the aggressor. I guarantee you if your son did these things, HE WOULD BE REMEMBERED BY THE STAFF. Just my 2 cents.

JBW this is nothing new just ask some of the alums it is a known fact that A&T has a problem when it comes to reaching out to or to replying back to athletes out of the NC,SC, Va, DC, Ga, FL , area codes .

I'm not sure what A&T is thinking, Rogers the backup kicker had stats better than the current kicker but that didn't seem to matter. With all the misses he has not been in to even attempt to kick a PAT or FG.

I would think one of our kickers wont come back next year. There is no reason you need to keep 2 kickers on scholarship when you are only converting 3-of-8 FG attempts and none of the kickoffs ever reach the endzone.

If they're both still on scholarship they have no reason to leave. Why eschew a free education from a top institution because you can't make a kick?

Yeah, I meant one of them probably would not be offered a scholarship next year. There is no way we allocate two scholarships for a total of 3 field goals and no touchbacks.

We can not continue to leaving our kickers to figure it out on their own . Got a Kicking Coach then recruit a kicker . If we are serious about the program we will have a kicking coach next year

I might be wrong but I don't see us yanking a scholly for a kid we recruited unless they mess up off the field or in the classroom. I couldn't even see Broadway doing that. We're gonna have to coach 'em up.

I hope the Coaching Staff remove Baker from punt duties.Baker is not a punt retuner .Why not let Wilson return punts the rest of the Season. I think next year punt retuner will be the young Man from S.C

We definitely need somebody back there who can make quick and solid decisions and who has good hands first and foremost. If Bell’s healthy then he’d be my pick. He needs the ball in his hands more and he hasn’t had as many opportunities this year.
