gosh, i don't remember some of those guys. however i do remember steve rush though, but the only outstanding thing i remember about rush was his "deadly" 3 point long range shooting ability. his all around game however wasn't as "entertaining" to me as gantz's game.
speaking for myself only, the reason i feel that gantz is so entertaining is because he has the complete package "offensively". he can shoot (though he could stand to improve his 3 pt shooting), he can "sky", he can penetrate, he can handle, and he can make "magic johnson" like no look passes. imo, he has outstanding "showmanship".
i don't know if any of the other guys mentioned can do all of those things, i didn't see too many games beyond the 80's since most of them were not on tv or the internet until the 2000's. so i personally can't say whether those other guys were more "entertaining" than gantz or not because i didn't see them play. that's why i previously stated that "i" (just me only) haven't seen a more entertaining player since "the bird" era in the late 70's...

....to be entertaining, you have to be out on the floor enough for us to judge your "entertainment value." Rightfully or wrongfully, he hasn't gotten much clock to this point to remotely reach such a conclusion.

he was great, one of my favorites! he even spent a few days on the portland trailblazers roster. but in terms of "entertaining" (not necessarily playing ability), he's not one of the most "entertaining" players i've seen. to me, guys like sparrow and al spruiel (i watched al when he was in high school since he's from new bern) were "entertaining", they were crowd pleasers because of their showmanship and flashiness. binion to me was not the most entertaining player i've seen but he was one of the most "talented" aggies i've seen. again, the keyword being "entertaining", not the most "talented"...

But OSA, To be entertaining, you have to be......OUT ON THE FLOOR LONG ENOUGH to be entertaining. He must have put on a show when you saw him last year. I'm telling you, Ganz was consistently NOT getting much clock last year for any Aggie fan to judge his entertainment value. Check out the stats from last year. He was TENTH in minutes per game played last year (ie. 9 other Aggies were consistently getting more minutes than he was). When you go to conference play, his minutes dropped to LESS THAN 5 MINUTES PER GAME. www.ncataggies.com//ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&CONTENT_ID=2138170I'm not calling Ganz a scrub. I'm not calling him Lebron James. I'm not calling him anything because he barely got a chance to play for me to describe his play. Hopefully, he does those things which will ingratiate him with the staff to where he'll get more minutes this upcoming year.....The best of luck to him and the rest of the young men on the team. ....and let's hope ENTERTAINMENT = WINS for 2018-19.

OSA, you and I have very different memories of Binion. He was the best and most exciting Aggie bb player I ever saw (Sparrow was a little before my time at A&T). He could play facing or with his back to the basket. And let's not talk about all the MEAC players he posterized on incredible dunks! My favorite play I'll never forget is vs BCC. Dude grabbed the defensive rebound, went end to end throwing the ball off the floor and backboard for a one handed slam! The game was already decided but Corbett went bonkers. Man I wish there was video of his time in an Aggie uniform.

The question is: What individual player on this team will develop into the "that's who I came to see" player? Could Jackson be it?

......haven't heard a peep about anything concerning this year's team. We got UNCG in less than 2 weeks. We play Wake in 2 weeks.....have heard nothing.
Does anybody have any idea about anything with this team?

NSS, We are playing these teams too early in the season. You want to beat uncg, because they are in your backyard and you don't want to risk losing to folks in your backyard. Especially, if your team is relatively new. Chemistry might not be there. And also, when they claim to be the real "blue and gold".
I'm glad some folks are beginning to qualify their answer on the MOST ENTERTAINING player with the phrase "during my time". That's the only way the issue can really be discussed, because most folks have not come close to seeing every player that played for A&T. Just like folks can't say who was the best. Only during their time.
