Did we retro-actively change the official stadium capacity, due in part, to our new deal with BB&T? Was that higher number part of the sales pitch? that's what it looks like to me... Well, if that's the case, expect some numbers to go up all across campus. Corbett will probably have a seating capacity of 10,000 this upcoming season.

The Fire Marshall determines the seating capacity based on the N.C. Building Code. The code requires a minimum of 18 inches of space per person for bleacher seating. If we have identified space that will be used for standing purposes only, then the space requirement is 3-5 square feet per person. We may have identified standing only areas such as the concourse or field area that may explain the increase. The number of exits and travel distance to the exits must be taken into consideration also. Calculating seating capacity can be complicated and fluctuate due to various factors.

So maybe in 2003 we decided that all those band geeks who hang out on the track after halftime can now be considered standing room only patrons.

what about the new luxury suites? how many do they seat? certainly not an additional 6k. matter fact, didn't the new pressbox eliminate a few seats when it was built?

I dont think 4 suites all together can hold 1,000 people ... and like you said, I thought we lost a couple of hundred seats when the press box went up.

If the change didn’t go back to 2003, my first thought would be to accommodate the GameZone concept.

The last year I think I remember the bleachers being there was maybe 2003.

The last year I think I remember the bleachers being there was maybe 2003. This has to be correct because the track was installed in 2004 and they stopped letting spectators sit on the track for homecoming that year.

I think you are right oleschool, but how and why did that estimate change? For years the estimate was around 22,500 and now it is listed as the exact number of 27,769. There's gotta be a reason for that, right? I already explained this in the original thread. 22,500 is football/track capacity. Capacity for when sports are actually on the field. The 27,769 is for things like concerts where fans can be in the stands AND on the field(like floor seating). If someone wanted to have a concert in Aggie Stadium and set the stage up in front of the Scoreboard. 27,769 capacity. Is this dayshavoo please don't have Aggie Monster and OldshoolAggie get back into this debate again we going to have a 40 page thread. I was wondering the same thing. This is a question to ask the AD he suppose to have these numbers.

He was referring how you two will go back and forth on ANY TOPIC. You've debated on many topics in the past, derailing threads, and he jokingly brought up you two starting another on this thread about the stadium capacity.
