Mannn, I understand the deal. I am through with this topic, subject and conversation. Contact the chancellor, a d and Bornthrilla. Fini Since that was a falsehood, do you have any feelings on what I’ve posted about turning the state of the field grass into an opportunity to create a new major, product, and revenue stream? Or are you just sticking around for snide comments at this point?

If you can remember the very first home game of this season, and the next two or three after that and how nice the field looked, that alone should tell you how well taken care of this field is. Being the type of grass that it is, you have to expect to see it change as it gets colder. Nothing wrong with the grass or how it looks (it’s expected), what we should be looking at is the overall appearance of the stadium with those rusty azz railings and bleachers. nothing wrong with the grass? That’s the same mentality that has plagued our people for decades. “Y’all just need to be happy wit what you got. It’s better than we had.” I agree the whole stadium could stand upgrading but the field is what makes the stadium “pop”. In season or not.

i'd just like to see somebody list the number of d1 football playing schools who's home football playing surface looks worse than ours when the weather turns cold. somebody please take a crack at it cuz i don't know of "any", especially now that everybody in the meac except us play on field turf.
c'mon, somebody please make that list! there are 125 fcs teams and 129 fbs teams. combined, there are 254 division 1 football teams. out of 254 d1 football teams, how many of them have a home football playing surface that looks worse than ours when the weather turns cold?
it doesn't make sense that the largest hbcu in the country, the 3 time "back to back" bcf national champions have such a "crappy" field when the weather turns cold, especially since the overwhelming vast majority of d1 teams don't have that problem...

C’mon Max, I understand what your saying about people settling on things and getting in the way for better things to happen. What I’m saying does not fall in line with that line of thinking, but is only meant to say, change it if you must for the sake of appearance or to just have something new, but showing photos of it in its dormant condition doesn’t render it damaged or unhealthy. I like all that is good when it comes to A&T, I want only the best, and I’m not in any position to stand in the way of any change. I usually watch the games many times, and noticed how great the field looked during the Elon and DSU games.

These folks say that they can keep Bermudagrass fields green all year sportsturfonline.com/2015/10/06/overseeding-bermudagrass-athletic-fields/7549/

There’s a heluva lot of detail on that article about exactly how accomplish green Bermuda grass. Thanks pop dad. Someone needs to read it and move out on one of these methods suggested. The technical stuff is above my paygrade but a turf manager should know exactly what to do with this info.

If it stays Green year round then they should be able to do the same for the Football field .

Dooms, I wasn't gone post anymore on this topic but some of the statements made, made me.
Please, someone go to the Dowdy building and ask them why they like tan grass. For the last time they have more important issues than tan grass that produces Champions.

Like I said a couple of times (and I guess you missed it) the issue shouldn't be taken to Dowdy. It should be taken to Carver. That's where the opportunity lies.
You're really dodging my comments on it. That's fine and I get it. You don't want to be convinced. At first I couldn't care less about the grass but reading folks' comments swayed me and got me to noticing how bad it actually does represent us and how it's a wasted opportunity for us.

This may be the biggest reason why several areas use paint.

Another issue is that we dont have adequate lighting on the practice field, so when the days get shorter in the fall the team is forced to move practice inside the stadium.
That obviously puts some extra wear and tear on the grass.

That obviously puts some extra wear and tear on the grass. I suspect that building an indoor practice facility for Football and the Band would help keep the grass green on top of Dooms’ suggestion. But as I was told by our admin, it’s hard to grow grass in November.
