Contact Braxton McShan, Assistant Director of Annual Giving.
His office number is 336.285.2511, email is bomcshan@ncat.edu.
You can just contact him and tell him that you are from Bluedeathvalley.com and want to sign up for the 1891 club. They should be able to take your credit card information over the phone and set you up for monthly deductions of $18.91.
At the end of a fiscal year you'll have given $226.92 without noticing it. Of course you can always give more or less, but the key point is they'll simply deduct whatever amount you choose on a monthly basis from your credit or debit card.

The next time A&T calls me, I will set this up with my credit card. Thanks for this notice DOOMS.

So I guess we are official now? Cool beans.
BTW: I have been a charter member of the 1891 Club since February and it works like a charm. I Highly recommend joining this initiative if you are looking for a simple, "low impact" way to give back to your alma mater.
I promise you wont even notice it.

Glad you guys were able to get this going. One question... is the money for this initiative going to a single source or can it be diverted to different entities (i.e. AAF, Alumni Foundation, academic departments, etc.)?

As far as I know it's going to the general fund for now.

As far as I know it's going to the general fund for now. That's good to know. Folks just have to be aware that none of those funds will go to AAF or athletics if that is the case. And being that this is a A&T athletics-theme message board, that's pertinent info. But I'm not one to discourage general giving to A&T.

But you can set up on your own recurring giving to whatever fund you want also... make the call to Annual Giving and the team can make it work. LaShawndra and her team are awesome.

Great news! The 1891 club funds donated to general fund are discretionary, and can be used for any purpose defined to benefit the University, including athletics. The AAF is an associate entity of the University. By giving to the AAF you are not giving directly to the University, but only to athletics.

When I joined the 1891 club I believe I earmarked 50 percent to arts & sciences and 50 percent to athletics.
They are able to divert your money to whatever fund you want, but you just have to specify when you talk to Mr. McShan.
I believe the default setting is to the general fund.

You can request your donation to be given to any preferable group on campus. You can select more than one entity.

When you do, please let us know how the process and experience was.
I guess this is sorta like Phase 0.5, so it would be good to see how we can fine-tune this thing moving forward.
