He played in the game Sunday that closed out the Raiders' glory days in their old stadium.

It's never a good thing when the general manager who traded up to draft you is no longer in the organization.
Parker is gonna have to find a way to win over Gruden and get on the field. This is a long season and there will likely be some injuries on the offensive line. As long as he stays focused, he will have an opportunity to earn a starting job before the year is out.

They've got him listed as the backup left tackle, so I expect they don't want to risk him getting hurt in case the starter gets hurt. They'll, probably exhaust all options on the right side before they play him there, if at all.

Brandon is the backup LT. The starting LT is Colton Miller, the guy they drafted in the 1st round in 2018 (same year). Then Mayock signed Trent Brown as a big FA RT. Then he signed Sam Young this year, a journeyman OT. The Raiders are carrying 10 OLs because of the active roster increase. And the Raiders aren't doing swing positions. So Brandon is basically stuck behind a 1st round pick that is viewed as a franchise LT. He has to stay engaged, not get cut in 2021 and get the heck out of Vegas as a FA in 2022.

Will Brandon Parker get his first start of the season on Sunday against my Bucs??Las Vegas Raiders' Trent Brown to COVID-19 list, O-line sent homePaul Gutierrez ESPN Staff Writer OCT. 21, 2020 @ 4:37 PM
HENDERSON, Nev. -- With the Las Vegas Raiders preparing to place right tackle Trent Brown on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team sent home all five of its starting offensive linemenon Wednesday due to contact tracing, coach Jon Gruden said.
"I guess they were around Trent," Gruden said in a video call with reporters. "I can't get into things any more than that. But hopefully we'll get some players back tomorrow, or for Sunday."
The Raiders' starting offensive line the last time they played, at Kansas City on Oct. 11, included left tackle Kolton Miller, left guard Denzelle Good, center Rodney Hudson, right guard Gabe Jackson and Brown, who was playing for the first time since the season opener due to a calf injury.
Other offensive linemen on the Raiders' 53-man roster are: Brandon Parker, John Simpson, Andre James, Patrick Omameh and Sam Young.
Safety Johnathan Abram was also sent home as part of contact tracing.
Brown practiced on Monday, but the team was off on Tuesday.
"We're listening to the league and they're advising us on what to do," Gruden said. "We used other linemen and adjusted practice. We'll have five [offensive linemen] on Sunday. We'll be ready to go."
The Raiders took it upon themselves to send the players home...
