The word is that Hart is out as DB coach and has been relegated to teaching in the classroom(teaching what, I don't know). It was made known that he had some kind of funky contract that made it hard for Small to get rid of him when he became head coach. I have never heard of an assistant coach having a contract but Hart did have one. Evidently coach Hayes arranged for Hart to have a contract. I wonder what that was all about? If anyone else has any knowledge of this situation please comment.

Something is fishy with that.

I thought Hart did a decent job considering the circumstances. I was hoping he'd stay on the staff.

I thought Hart did a good job, too.

He did a damn good job considering we couldn't hardly get any pass rush for the last couple of years. It can't be performance related.

I hate to see him go as well because he's a good position coach and he should get snatched up pretty quickly by someone else.
I just think Small wants his own people who will be loyal to him pretty much like he wants his own recruits in the starting lineup this fall. He kinda touched on some of that and some individual attitude problems left over from the Hayes era at the season's end in a quiet and discreet way so this wasn't a surprise to me.

My source within the program says that Small has already hired a new DB coach. I will try to get his name shortly but I understand he is a white gentlemen.

Not a very intelligent post, Doomsday.
I just hope the new coach has a strong knowledge of fundamentals and is on the same page with Small.

I agree with you Aggie One.
Small hinted with me when he was hired that he did not like the fact that he was force to keep Hart on the Coaching Staff. So I am not surprise that did not happen. It maybe more of a philosophy difference.

#4 against the pass last year. An all meac selection each year as DBs coach sounds like a pretty good philosophy. I hope there's something more to his firing.
