Ms. Ross signed on the dotted line today. Former Aggie receiver Giorgio Lowrance works at East Rutherford. Wonder if he had any influence on her signing with us

GIRLS’ PREP BASKETBALL: John Hardin’s Peeples fulfills dream, signs with North Carolina A&T (11/12) BY GRANT WIEMAN The News-Enterprise Nov 12, 2017
John Hardin senior Rayven Peeples fulfilled a lifelong dream Friday, signing her letter of intent to play college basketball and North Carolina A&T. Peeples averaged 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs last season. “Since I was young, that’s all I wanted to do,” Peeples said. The Aggies weren’t on their radar before the recruiting process started, her dad Raymon Peeples said, but they blew them away on a recruiting visit over the summer. “They laid out the red carpet for us,” he said. Peeples and Raymon developed a recruiting plan before last season, discussing their options and how to go about talking with coaches, planning visits and what they were looking for. North Carolina A&T offered a combination of athletic success, academics and an atmosphere that suited Peeples well. Women's Basketball Signs Three Players For 2018-19 Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 11/16/2017
GREENSBORO (November 16, 2017) – North Carolina A&T head women’s basketball coach Tarrell Robinson announced the signing of three players for the 2017-18 recruiting class. The class includes Taya Jones (5-foot-9, guard, Red Springs, N.C./Red Springs HS), Kendra Ross (6-3, forward/center, Forest City, N.C./East Rutherford HS) and Rayven Peeples (6-2, F, Elizabethtown, Ky./John Hardin HS). All three will enter N.C. A&T in the fall of 2018 as a freshman and will become members of the Aggies family. “Our women’s basketball program couldn’t be more excited about the three young ladies joining our family,” Robinson said. “We wanted to add more size, depth and versatility on the court in our 2018 class, and we believe we got all of that. These new additions will keep the Lady Aggies at the top of the MEAC, helping us bring home another championship to North Carolina A&T.” For the rest of the story: www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211685819#.Wg3WFbOhBXM.twitter

Me and him connected a lot. “When I came to the school, it was a beautiful campus and then I just felt welcomed. The team welcomed me a lot. They just looked at me like a family.” Peeples also took official visits to St. Bonaventure and Cleveland State, and John Hardin coach Caleb Smith said he could tell immediately how they went. “She’s very quiet and she doesn’t say a lot, but it was very noticeable when she went on her visit who she liked and who she didn’t,” Smith said. “When she came back from A&T, you could tell she was really excited about the people there. Not only did she get along with the girls, but it was a strong academic program, which was really important for her. Rayven has nice form on her jumper.
She'll need to get stronger, but I definitely she her taking up the minutes in Jade Scaife's position off the bench starting out.
Ross & Peebles definitely represent a potential upgrade in size & talent. We'll see how they work when they get here this summer.

Incoming freshman guard Taya Jones from Red Springs is a pure shooter, something we haven't had in a few seasons. She is going to have earn valauble minutes as she adjusts to colege game behind the upperclassmen but man-o-man she can shoot! www.hudl.com/video/3/5034786/5721dd410c5e681224b7ee5c

From that highlight reel, what little I know about b-ball, I like that Jones as an "in between game." I also like that she doesn't force her shot, and she takes what the defense gives her...if the d lays off her, she takes the 3; if the d plays her close, she drives to the basket; hence, she has a what Dickie V calls a "high basketball i.q." Da future looks bright.

For guards, that's a critical skill and she does it naturally.
