That is some roster turnover . I hope the former players graduate ... Got to be concerned about the APR 3 former scholarship players (Bryan Akinkugbe, Arturs Bremers and Adrian Powell) graduated in fall 2016. 5 scholarship players (Sam Hunt, Nick Reese, James Whitaker, Mike Owona and Aaron Scales) graduated in May. One more past scholarship player (Jamin Lackey) was scheduled to graduate in August. Those graduations and the extra APR points they provide are the reason that we were able to turn the roster over in basically 2 recruiting cycles. APR is always a concern. But the players and the coaching staff have done the job in that area.

I'm sure NCCU didn't graduate this many players..... they lost "7" seniors from their 14 man roster and "4" of those seniors were "starters". they had to replace at least half of their roster this year and find "4" new starters...

I see it simply as this....we are getting excited over a bunch of players we haven't seen play in person. Or as a team live. I understand the enthusiasm but I'm reserving my opinion until Nov/Dec 2017. We need to keep it real and understand, we were like NSS said a 3-29 team last year. Should we improve with the player additions? Yes but the last 20+ years of Aggie men's BB has been mostly disappointing and no I'm not being a Debbie Downer!

I hear you loud and clear Groove but at this point all I can do is look at the facts and give my opinions on the recruits we have compared to rest of MEAC and what we put on the floor last year.
You are right history says otherwise but I am just evaluate it on what I see and the fact 85% of the roster has turned over. As far as Joyner... it's much easier to coach a team with talent as oppose to one lacking talent espically for a young unproven coach

A&T hoops to sport new look in 2017-18 by Steven J. Gaither July 15, 2017 The 2016-17 basketball season was one to forget at North Carolina A&T. The team won just two games all season, and just one against a Division I opponent. A&T is hoping to turn the corner on its basketball page, and has brought in a recruiting class of seven to go with three transfers who sat out last season hbcugameday.com/2017/07/15/ncat-hoops-to-sport-new-look-in-2017-18/

The information about our basketball players graduating is very exciting. Win or lose, the university's primary objective is to provide students with an education. As for all our new players...I'm following Jessie's lead..."Keep hope alive!" Over the past two decades I've learn the hard way never to get too optimistic about our men's basketball program. And based on last years exercise in futility I'm sure as hell ain't going to make that mistake this year.
So write all the glowing comments about this player stats and that players potential but I will not pay any attention until they start keeping score for real on that new fancy scoreboard. Until then, I'm focused on football.

While Donte Watson isn't a 2017 signee.... here's a clip of his highlights from 2016-17. Donte is returning for his senior season.

Donte is returning for his senior season. i like donte's game, he's a "slasher". but i didn't realize that he was coming back this year, that's very good news. i always felt he was one of the better players on last year's squad, i'm glad he's back. it always helps to have experienced "upperclassmen" on the team...

Yes... 51% FG because he gets to the rim at 6-6, 35% from 3-pt range, 85% FT shooter. We could do a LOT worse in this recruiting environment. I'm most happy that he stays on track for his degree this spring. It also helps APR in the process. It should be a talented competition between Watson and 6-7 Japhet Kadji at the 3 spot. That should be quality experienced depth between the two of them.

man, i'm glad donte is back. this team will have a good representation of "upperclassmen" on the roster this year and i've got to be honest, i'm starting to get a little bit "anxious" to see them play. this year's team is "way" more athletic than last year's team. i'm actually beginning to like the makeup of this year's roster.
i'm praying that coach joyner can maximize the talent that he has this year. i think both gantz and spiceman will bring some really good "crowd pleasing" play to corbett this year. if we can just win more than our fair share of games this season along with that fabulous brand new scoreboard, corbett just might become the place to see some exciting basketball this year.
the "potential" is there. man, i've really got my fingers crossed...

Don't sleep on Kam Langley's ability to excite the crowd. If he pulls some isht like this in the opener that can be replayed on the new scoreboard... Corbett might erupt... LOL!
