FSU students protest after administrators strip Miss FSU of title
By Alicia Banks and Nancy McCleary Staff writer Jan 30, 2017 Updated Feb 18, 2017
Fayetteville State University administrators decided not to reconsider their decision to strip Miss FSU of her crown during a meeting with more than 100 students Monday afternoon. The now-former Miss FSU is 21-year-old Bria Perkins, a senior and a cheerleader at the university. She won the title last April. "We hear your concerns, but at this time, the decision is final," said Juanette Council, associate vice chancellor of student affairs and business manager for student affairs. "We do hear that disappointment. We do look forward to sitting down with you all and hearing your voices at the table." Other administrators at the meeting included FSU Chancellor James Anderson, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Janice J. Haynie, the university's lead attorney Wanda Jenkins and former Miss FSU Dara Colon, who earned the crown in 2014. This is just weird and not a good look. There's obviously no public record issue or it would have been all over the news. So to have something like this play out like this in public with no explanation is just bad PR. There are no winners.
And with FSU having the financial issues that they do, you don't need press like this.

I think it's obvious the school is trying to protect her privacy. IMO, if the dethroned young lady is going to let people protest on her behalf she should give them an explanation.
