Very glad to find out yesterday that we have indeed offered QB Dominique Shoffner. I truly believe he could be a very special player.

aggieone, that's great news...I hope we can get this kid and redshirt him. Is he still flying under the radar or dose he have more offers since last month?

i don't know how many offers this kid has now, but i swear i don't understand why he only had 2 offers when a1 had first posted about this kid. dang, maybe because he's not 6'3" or taller? i dunno. but on film, clearly this kid can flat out "ball"...

Wingate has also recently offered him. Great mechanics, 65.5 % completion rate for 2967 yards, 39 TDs against just 8 interceptions. Ran for 388 yards and 13 more TDs. 28-2 as a two year starter, real solid grades (3.6 GPA), honor student, excellent citizenship, clean cut kid - every coaches dream.
He's not 6-5 and runs a modest 4.7 are the only reasons I can think of.

Cam Newton's brother committed to Howard true, but surprisingly he only had offers from ssu, hampton, kentucky christian (naia school), and howard. that's not a very impressive lineup of offers... Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards

If Shoffner runs a 4.7 he is faster than the qb's at A&T ... Except maybe the Wr/qb... Agree , the few offers are surprising for Newton. How did he look on film ? Shoffner's offers are no better.. Wingate Davidson etc or course he doesn't have the Newton genes

You never can tell until they hit the field on game day. That goes for every recruit for that matter.

Wingate Davidson etc or course he doesn't have the Newton genes hey, i'm not saying he's not worthy of an hbcu offer. just that the offers he got doesn't seem to indicate that he's any different than any other hbcu qb recruit. yes, he has great genes. but at 5'11", obviously cam was blessed with something that his little brother "apparently" does not have. his name alone and being cam's little brother means to me that plenty of college coaches have looked at him but decided not to offer. hard for me to believe that he got "overlooked" and that's kinda what my point was. yes, i'd definitely offer shoffner. but that doesn't mean i wouldn't be willing to offer newton too. all i'm saying is that given his blood lines (cam's brother), i would've been more impressed if he had offers from some higher caliber programs than just 3 hbcu's and 1 naia school...
