Ha, ha.... no top level DBs in those clips. And he chops his stride, so he COULD be faster. That's a tough habit to break while wearing pads, though. But his breakaway speed isn't his biggest skill. We both agree that his senior year film could definitely paint a clearer picture, which is what the teams offering him are seeing. This is great that we're in the game, though. i got my fingers crossed that he’ll sign with us, but i’m not counting on it. to me, this guy is a big time back. he has size, toughness, and speed. even demonstrated in his first clip that he has good hands, grabbing a “one handed” catch and holding onto it even though he hit the ground hard. i’ll take your word on the competition level because i don’t know. but he certainly did out run some guys even though they had very good angles on him. and at 196 lbs as a junior, he already has d1 “size” and will likely push 200 lbs as a senior. i really like this guy, hope we sign him but its gonna be difficult given that fbs schools are also vying for his services... The competition level of the video is fine. He plays in the CAP 8(4AA) in Wake County. The top half of the conference is very solid. I've seen Roundtree play several times in person last year and this year. It would be a steal if we land him. A lot of FBS schools are showing interest. He carries Millbrook almost every game.

Ha, ha.... I'm not saying that he's not playing against some 4A level comp in the front 7. I'm just pointing out that none of those DBs in that clip look like they will be playing D1 level. That was my question about his long speed at D1 level... as a HS junior.
But all of Roundtree's other skills? They are very good, as I mentioned before.

You know I was wondering if ghoe helped seal any deals as far as recruitment...football and basketball.

That's excellent news. This kid is a FBS talent who is ready physically right out of the wrapper and that's saying something about a HS linemen. A great pickup for us along the O-Line for next year!

Yes I heard we wouldn't give him a strong enough look. Now, I don't like losing backyard kids.

We recruit for needs first and foremost and keep in mind we signed six DBs last winter and they are being redshirted this season. This wintger we are primarily going heavy after linemen, a breakaway RB, another big receiver, and a couple of QB prospects.

We can't argue with Broadway's approach to recruiting or "beat me if your QB can" defense!
