Hearing from several sources that she was escorted out her office on 10/18 by Jackson State police I heard the same thing. Not trying to be too harsh but that crew (you all know who they are because they were here in Aggie land)........had a lot of people snowed and fooled. I have a friend who was a Vice Pres. at JSU (my friend ended up leaving after she peeped what was REALLY going on) who kept me abreast with all the shenanigans taking place (Myers, Renick, Hoard, etc.). Enough said!! ! !!

Carolyn Meyers Not Fired, Hasn’t Resigned as Jackson State President Email circulated among alumni sparks rumors.
WAPT in Jackson, MS reports today that Jackson State University President Carolyn Meyers has not been fired nor has she resigned. The report cites confirmation from the state’s Institutions of Higher Learning office, which oversees Mississippi’s public colleges and says that Dr. Meyers, who was appointed as president in 2010 and earned a four-year contract extension last year, will not be leaving the state’s historically black flagship. From WAPT: “Meyers’ contract runs through June 30, 2019. She has not been terminated and she has not resigned,” Caron Blanton, the director of communications for Mississippi Public Universities, said in a message to 16 WAPT’s Erin Pickens.

Renick supposedly resigned due to an internal dispute. Hoard and others also left. Meyers is tough to work for and with. I believe Hoard's wife is still employed by A&T.

How Bad is it at Jackson State? One of the biggest and most important HBCUs falls hard in a public way.
By Jarrett Carter Sr.Follow Founding Editor, @hbcudigest
When you think back to last summer’s huge question of “what’s going on at Jackson State” and consider why rumors have been circling over the last week about the firing or removal of Carolyn Meyers as JSU president, it all makes sense now. The school was burning through cash reserves at a clip of nearly $7 million per year, and the school was trying to fire, hire and consequently spend its way out of it. But now it is too late, and while one of the most important historically black colleges on the planet is not on the verge of closure or consolidation, there will be a significant drop in stakeholder confidence in the school maintaining what generations of work have shaped it to do. Anna Wolfe, Jimmie E. Gates, and Geoff Pender | The Clarion-Ledger 2 hours ago Jackson State University president Carolyn Meyers announced her resignation Tuesday afternoon after denying rumors about her departure last week. Her resignation comes on the heels of the discovery that JSU’s cash reserves have plummeted 89 percent in the last five years, landing at $4.2 million for the 2016 fiscal year that ended in the fall. Meyers in a short resignation letter said she was leaving "out of genuine love of and pride in the university." She said her resignation would be effective Nov. 1, and that she is prepared to vacate the president's residence at the school within 30 days. For the rest of the story the link is below.
