After you look at all the video and read all of articles, which of the 2015 signees will start(not just play) by mid season?
My first guess: Smalls Blake Phillip

Blake is already on campus and in classes so you'll see him in spring practice. It's just way too early to tell about the rest of this class except its a high quality group on paper, both academically and football wise.

The only HS player that really stands out right as being productive on this level right now is Johnson. I think we wouldn't have had a true shot at him if it hadn't been for the ACL tear in 2014. And he'll still have a curve from a playbook standpoint. The rest... there will be upperclassmen with at least one spring practice ahead of them come fall. We're at the point in program maturity where red-shirting a whole class is just fine with me.

I know it's too early that's why I positioned it as a guess. Who has the best eye in the Valley?

I'm hoping most of em red shirt. I see a few that will push for playing time but starting is a ? and a few RS Sure starting is a question mark but I didn't think at the beginning of the season that we would have a true freshman Marcus Pettiford starting on the O-line. Or that Reynolds would break into the starting lineup at the WILL backer or that Malik Wilson would be pressed into a starting role at WR due to injury. As for my guesses: Blake - what I saw on video was enough to show me that he will beat out one of our guards. With a new O-line coach, he will get a spot. Smalls - after looking at the depth chart, He plays outside which means he would have to beat out Albert or Reynolds. That would be tough. Phillip - We lose three seniors in the secondary. One of the four freshmen DBs will break into the lineup by mid-season. I chose Philip because he likes to hit people. It will be fun to watch it play out.

I say, Johnson, none of our backups have shown his kind of talent the kid hits the hole hard and fast. Blake is ahead of the curve, Toliver and Bell

Pettiford came in a year where the OL was in flux. But he was a legit talent, no doubt. The big schools passed him because of his size. Reynolds is really smart, graduated in January, and played spring ball last year. We lose 3 seniors in the secondary, but a lot of guys played meaningful minutes. Lockhart, Taylor and Suttles have the safety/ROV spots headed into spring ball as upper classmen. Marquis Willis (2 INTs,), McCoy (1 INT), Darden and Abram all got valuable run last year. DB may actually be the deepest group on the field. I'd be surprised if any start, but maybe 1-2 get into the rotation... but I won't be surprised if they all red-shirt, either. And the only reason Malik Wilson saw significant run was because of the ridiculous rash of injuries at WR. Without that... he's probably a RS as well last year. It's a good debate to have, because the program is finally at a point where we don't NEED a freshman to star in order to get us over the hump. We're a legit FCS program at the top of our conference. And we get to celebrate that today!

And we get to celebrate that today! With a few more to come . I think Broadway will add about 2 or 3 more players and a few preferred walk-no's. I also think that he will hold back about 4 or 5 scholarships for next years recruiting class to add to the number in 2017, with the group that we have returning and this group, I know that is what I would do
