Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 02/03/2016 GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T, the defending HBCU football national champions and two-time MEAC champions, released its Signing Day Class on Wednesday. The Aggies signed 15 players including four defensive backs, three wide receivers, two offensive linemen, two linebackers, a defensive tackle, quarterback, running back and tight end. “I thought we got what we needed,” said N.C. A&T head coach Rod Broadway. “There are a lot of good players out there, so sometimes it is really hard to stay discipline and fill your needs instead of going out and recruiting positions you don’t have a need for at the time. I thought for the most part we were disciplined, got some really good players that can run, hit and make plays and filled in some gaps along the way.” The Aggies will hold their Signing Day Party 7:30 p.m., Thursday at Corbett Sports Center. It is open to the public. Link

A real quality class, specialized targeted recruiting for immediate needs for a 10-2 team that will return, 3 All-Americans, 7 starters and 57 lettermen. Previous experience tells me we aren't completely finished recruiting by a long shot but our main guys on Day One are now in the fold.

The Celabration Bowl may have helped to upgrade our talent by attracting better out of state talent?

dang! we stole tre smalls right out of buddy pough’s backyard! usually it has been the other way around. this dude is a linebacker who stands 6’1” tall, weighs 217 lbs, and runs a friggin’ 4.52 forty!! was on south carolina’s shrine bowl team. kinda reminds me of d’vonte grant who had great speed as a linebacker in his own right. except this dude is “bigger” and unbelievably “faster” than grant! grant ran a 4.6, this dude runs a 4.5!! and did i mention that he’s bigger than grant! wow! glad i still have that shrine bowl game recorded on my dvr. gots to replay it tonight (after i watch my wizards get “torched” by steph curry) so that i can take a first hand look at mr. smalls...

Justin Philip (6-0,190, Safety) Good looking athlete who can run and will hit people. Generally the DBs in this year's class are taller and larger than in previous seasons. www.hudl.com/athlete/1910953/justin-philip

Man I like the way that all of this looks on paper, looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Which one of the new signees was it that was convinced that this was the place to be because of what he saw at GHOE?

All I know is we have at least 2 awesome DB recurits. That battle for playing time is going to be good. With today's spread out offenses its more about who will sit the bench vs who is starting. Cause you have at least 5 DBs that play on defense these days.
