RB/DB: Tevin Perry, Bunn, 5-7, 165, senior
Perry led Bunn to its first appearance in the N.C. High School Athletic Association football championships. The Northern Carolina 2A player of the year scored in a variety of ways. He ran for 2,334 yards (the only Triangle back to top the 2,000 yard mark) and 29 touchdowns, returned a kickoff and three interceptions for TD, added one receiving touchdown and had 12 two-point conversions. He is being recruited by Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne.
“(Perry is) active in church and community and FCA at school,” Bunn coach David Howle said. “A very humble young man and a good teammate. He also helps the JV running backs. He has the ability to break it anytime he touches the ball. He also blocks for the other backs on our team; in our Wing-T all our backs have to block for each other. He is a very unselfish player who wants to see his teammates do well. He praises his offensive line for blocking for him.”

He did not sign with either school on signing day.

i think he might be willing to take a preferred walk-on offer from us than go to one of those schools, especially since he’ll get to practice along with his homeboy cohen...

I saw him wearing an ECU jersey on his Facebook page... Don't mean that he signed there, but he did say, "look what I got today", and he was being congratulated by face bookers.

Video: www.wsbtv.com/news/zay-malcome-montlick-associates-athlete-of-the/20985927Zay Malcome is a very interesting prospect. Looked him up: Class AAA player of the year, 5-6, 160, 4.41; breaking all kinds of HS records down in Georgia and a honors student to boot. Has offers from Air Force, Army, Austin Peay, Furman, and Davidson. Definitely worth a short road trip down 85 to take a look see this fall. Next year we will need to find that next great explosive "take it the house at any given moment" running threat for our offense. Cohen has really spoiled us rotten.

Very surprised we let him get away Don't know about get away. He didn't get any FCS offers and Shaw isn't a strong CIAA program. But best of luck to him. If he impresses, he can always transfer up.

Very surprised we let him get away With no FCS or Div1 offers it was either grades or just not impressing anyone at the combines. I dont want to assume grades, but his Hudl does look pretty good, so what else is there.

He would have to sit a year if he transferred to A&T... How many RB are on the roster? Seems like a lot of scholarships $$$ in tailbacks unless he really is a Cohen ?

A&T didn't know The Kid (Cohen) was that good until he hit the field !! Cohen had 0 offers out of high school ! "With no FCS or Div1 offers it was either grades or just not impressing anyone at the combines" Again Cohen stop assuming there is a problem with his grades or other things ! Facts being Some Kids are just over looked and all can not afford to go to a combine. Also it could be the Division in High School and Conference ! Kind of like the NFL when it comes to the MEAC...lol

given that cohen is on our team and our coaches are familiar with the high school cohen attended, i’m pretty certain that our coaches did not overlook this guy. i haven’t seen any video on this kid, but i think i would’ve at least encouraged him to come onboard as a preferred walk-on...

They may have offered a pref walk-on several schools may have offered a preferred walk-on but if Shaw is giving a full ride ..... I am sure people shied away due to his size.
