Going too far away (i.e. off of the eastern seaboard) scares me. I have no data to back it up but it seems like fewer kids stay and graduate when we pull them from outside that area.
Additionally, it costs more money to recruit them and they count as an out-of-state scholarship...
App State won three national championships in a row with guys from Georgia, SC, and NC. We won the cb with guys from Florida to Maryland, and a primary base of NC talent. We'd be better served to keep our same strategy imo.

Recruiting is great and all, but the exposure actually helped the University more then the football program. People got to see NC A&T on TV playing football. Enrollment should go up.
Playing in the game itself helps the football program because I'm sure most of the money will go to football.

Track meets at Aggie Stadium may help too. Gardin is the truth too! But the Bowl and site was perfect. It was cold in Atlanta. We kicked off the season, I saw Norfolk, Central & Hampton people. The SWAC was there too!

App State has the advantage to be able to have a larger pool to choose from in NC than we do. Yes, it costs more money, but we've already said in tons of posts that line play is the difference between being good and being great. If we don't have to go out of state then great, but if we can't get who we want in NC then then do it. As you mentioned, we don't have to go to California like past coaches did but we can go steal some Fla, Ga, Ala kids.
