A Mount Vernon High School football player, track athlete and Fort Belvoir resident committed to attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a formal letter-of-intent signing, March 20 in Alexandria, Virginia.
Jordan Mcgrigg, a senior at MVHS, made his decision to join the Aggies as a wide receiver after considering offers from several other major players in the NCAA, including Norfolk State University, Bridgewater College, Randolph-Macon College, Ferrum College, St. Francis College, and Shenandoah University.
The process of choosing his college destination required a great deal of introspection and careful consideration, Jordan said.
“I’m filled with many emotions. For the most part, I’m very grateful for the opportunity to play college football at a Division 1 school, and I’m especially grateful to play football at North Carolina A&T because it was my first school of choice,” he said. “Ultimately, my decision to commit to A&T came after having attended a prospect camp at the university this past summer. After the camp, I remained in communication with coaches. They really made me feel like making the decision to attend A&T would be like part of a family. It was the feeling of family and community that made my decision easy.”
