Lawrence was a rb the season he sat out. It would seem to me they had more than enough time to determine how good a rb he would be I agree, some people are just not natural running backs. They dont have the vision or the lateral movement to be that great. I'm sure coaching staffs(ours and ECUs) noticed something wasn't there for him to be a great running back. I can imagine the frustration by an OC or running back coach watching this kid with all this speed NOT make the right cut or not look that impressive in lateral drills in practice. Now that I think about it. It may have just been as simple as having all of your best options to score on the field at the same time. he's not your best RB(Cohen's there) and maybe not even your 2nd best, so why not put him at WR so he can get a chance to get his hands on the ball. He's decent enough there. Maybe that was the thinking because he wasn't better than our #1 or maybe even #2 RB, but too fast to keep him wasting away on the bench.

Remember, Lawrence was a junior and Cohen was a true freshman who wasn't being used much the first few games because we didn't know how good he was. So that probably wasn't the case.

Remember, Lawrence was a junior and Cohen was a true freshman who wasn't being used much the first few games because we didn't know how good he was. So that probably wasn't the case. That's true...l believe they trying to give R. Lewis and Drake the opportunity to carry the load then, Cohen had that monster game at Hampton. That's when we all knew he (Cohen) was too good to be 3rd on the depth chart. So, it was probably a little of both, if you would've had Lawrence and Cohen in the backfield, then what do you do with Lewis and Drake? So, it looked like the idea was to get Lawrence out on the edges while using a power running game, but, again, when Cohen showed out in Hampton, they had to get him on the field. So now, it sounds like we want all our weapons on the field but, will we have enough balls to go around?

He had stated earlier in previous interviews he really wanted to be part of the next U.S. Olympic team. My guess is he goes full time into track preparation to qualify for the Olympic Trials.

That kid has some serious quicks! If he focused on track, he could break that 10 second barrier. that's world class level stuff!! Good luck to the youngin in his future endeavors!
