If we paid full cost of tuition I wonder if he would have still tried to sell drugs?

If we paid full cost of tuition I wonder if he would have still tried to sell drugs? 9 times outta 10 he may have been already selling drugs even while at A&T . look his tuition cost have nothing to do with his situation. I do agree that we should show full support for Mr quick, but not at A&T !

This type of mistake should NOT be expected.... It is not like he does not know what happen to his teammates last year and the year before i think it would be very naive to think that more college students (including football players) don't partake in similar activities. i think we adults sometimes think 20 year old kids think with the same level of maturity that we do. well, i got news for ya, they don't. i'd be willing to bet my house that there's more kids at a&t (including athletes) as well as any other college in the country that partake in this type of activity. most of them get away with it 90% of the time, so they figure they'll never get caught as i'm sure this was the case here. i mean, do you really think this particular athlete was doing this kind of thing for the first time in his life and then he got caught? i think not. and had he gotten away with it for just one more year, no one would've known anything about it unless he were to get busted after leaving a&t. so yes, i say its a mistake because they're too "immature" to understand what's at stake. a lot of our kids come from low income families and don't have a lot of money. so they resort to this kind of activity just to make a little money and most of them get away with it. no one ever thinks they're gonna get caught, that's why they make these dumb decisions...

If we paid full cost of tuition I wonder if he would have still tried to sell drugs? Aggie2039, I don't generally call anyone out on what they say but I find it hard to believe you said that. Assuming the newspaper reports are true, Quick got in the drug business as a result of a fault in his own personality, not a failure of university to pay him a full ride. Using your logic all our athletes and those of other universities would be in the drug business which is preposterous. If, as reported, Quick was truly in the drug business, he needs to correct his own personal flaw.

That would have put some extra stipend in Quick's pocket.... and maybe the outcome changes. That's not excusing the judgment... but this does hammer home at the root cause of why maybe the judgment was made... extra money.

Mr Quicks actions is about making a quick dollar plain and simple. most likely Mr Quick had been participating in this activity over his time at A&T. I have yet to see the reason for college students on scholarship of type having to resort to selling drugs or participating in any illegal activity that would jeopardize there scholarship or possibly their life. This was about greed. it would be few and far between to find a college student at any university that is not starving for money, we all suffer from lack of funds when we were in school and yes we had some students that sold weed among other things. but 90% of the student population made do with what they had without jeopardizing themselves or their future career.so this excuse about not having money is just an asinine and BS.

Whoa guys, you may want to change your tone. I was asking ur thoughts...nothing more nothing less. Have a great day! Quick's(charged) FELONY has nothing to do with his A&T "life"-he was CHARGED and the legal system is yet to establish guilt/innocence;but in the Absence of legal determination...NO WAY to have him@ football program, and of course in and around the University!

Well, we play semantics all the time...call it a mistake, poor judgement or a bad decision. They all amount to the same result thus, we have to find ways help our young men make better decisions and choices, plain and simple. We all probably knew Quick wasn't headed to the NFL as a quarterback but, the fact that he won't complete his education hurts him personally, the school who entrusted him as the quarterback (ambassador to some degree) and the community as a whole. So, on every level, it's lose-lose for all involved. While I can agree that we made poor choices/decisions as college students, the price that our youth pays for their mistakes and bad decisions is at an all time high. So, they have to understand what's at stake more now than ever.

Let's get real about it, Quick is not the first A&T athlete to get caught up in the drug scene nor will he be the last. Quick made a very bad decision that cost him his scholarship at A&T, hopefully he will learn from it and have a productive life.

I think I clearly said that you can't excuse Quick's judgment in this case. 2. I disagree with calling or insinuating that another person's opinion or thought process is BS. We can all strongly disagree with opinions, viewpoints and even values because we come from different upbringings and walks of life. Even if only one person has the opinion/thought and everyone else on the board disagrees... that doesn't invalidate it. If anything, respectfully discussing that dissenting opinion/thought may actually get us closer to solutions than we were before. Just my two cents...
