For the last fundraising year that just ended in early December, after all the corporate donations were taken out, ,Aggie Athletic Foundation donors contributed over $500,000 in cash to A&T Athletics in 2014-15.
Congratulations and a big thank you to all AAF donors nationwide!!

I got a slick marketing piece from NCCU Athletic Department in the mail the other day. Once I determined it wasn't laced with anthrax, I figured they had gotten my mailing address when I ordered tickets to the NCCU/A&T game last year.
Although I opened it and immediately threw it in recycle trash can, it did impress me. I tried to remember the last time I had got anything in the mail from A&T (athletic or academics) soliciting donations. Now I know the whole world is online but every once in a while, you've got to send folks something tangible. It's real easy to ignore or delete email. I do it dozens of times each day, but a nice brochure or multi-color flyer gets your attention.
I realize snail mail is expensive, but you've got to do it. Somebody at A&T should understand that. I've complained often about A&T marketing effort or lack there of, so this isn't new stuff. I realize we're an "ag school" and not into fancy marketing stuff and "branding" but if we hope to compete for talent, contributors and ticket-buying fans, we have got to get better.
And it isn't always about marketing budgets or staffing. The staffing we have needs to do better tapping into the alumni for ideas and support.

I got the same thing(didn't even open it. went straight to trash), but I get plenty from A&T as well. My wife be like "Did you give A&T $10K or something? Cause they be sending you a lot of sheeet", LOL. It seems like A&T has a disconnect on who they send stuff to. I didn't get ANYTHING from A&T in the past while others said they did, so I'm not sure where that "trigger" is for getting a lot of marketing material.

yep, i got that nccu trash in the mail too, obviously because i purchased tickets from their athletic department last year for the a&t/nccu game. but i also got a really nice solicitation from a&t too asking for aggie donations which of course i obliged with my normal aaf donation.
however, what i don't understand is that i never get reminders in the mail or by email to renew my 2 season tickets for football. i dunno, maybe they figure i'll always renew since i normally have for the last decade or so. but shiggidy, i purchased my season tickets late this year (about 2 weeks ago) and never got a reminder from a&t. not that i would've forgot, but sometimes other folks do and they might not purchase again unless they're reminded.
by the way, i think this year was the "fastest" turnaround to receive my tickets in the mail that i've ever had since becoming a season ticket holder. this year my tickets arrived in my mailbox about 2 days after i ordered them over the phone whereas in the past, it may have taken well over a week to two weeks to get them...
