well, at least we don't have 4 consecutive meac "road games" on our schedule like we did during coach broadway's first year here. that was the most ridiculous scheduling i've ever seen. 4 consecutive meac "road games" don't make no sense...

Back-to-back trips to Tidewater again? I know Broadway and Hilton threw a hissy the last time that happened. That did in BCU this year.... won at Norfolk, lost at Hampton the following week. The good news... we don't have to travel as far as BCU does to get there.... and our back-to-back is in October... BCU had to do in November, where weather affected them more than it would normally. Unless Norfolk does a total offensive makeover, both of those are very winnable games if we stay on our current trajectory.

don't forget, norfolk is in the process of hiring a new head coach. hard to really measure how good they're gonna be without knowing who the coach is gonna be...

Are we sure about this schedule? SSU should not be rotated off again this soon. Only NCCU & SCSU are permanently on the schedule. The teams to rotate off should come from DSU, MSU, FAMU and Howard.

9/26 - I'd like to see us play in the Chicago Classic.

A winnable home game vs an FCS team would be ideal....wouldnt mind an NC HBCU if all else fails......but for SOS purposes......gotta make it count

Next year, A&T could be playing for the chance to rep the MEAC in a bowl game with the SWAC DEC2015.
The Head guy over at HBCUSPORTS.com, Kenn Rashad alluded to this but did mention nothing is finalized, yet.
I don't know why this keeps coming up every winter or so?

The Head guy over at HBCUSPORTS.com, Kenn Rashad alluded to this but did mention nothing is finalized, yet. I don't know why this keeps coming up every winter or so? It keeps coming up because it's a good idea...except nobody can figure out how to really make it happen. The MEAC has made a commitment to the FCS Playoff and the SWAC has found it more financial feasible to play in their own classics. But if you like HBCU football you really want to see the best of the best play...plus everybody will make money. Maybe not initially but I think in a few years the MEAC/SWAC HBCU Bowl will be big. Especially if they host it in an indoor arena in a large city Detroit, St. Louis, San Antonia.

If it does happen the location should be more centrally located. All MEAC schools are located on the east coast. I don't see to many fans traveling to far west to support such a game, especially if your school is not playing. Maybe Atlanta.

How many of you would go see Morgan State play Alcorn in Atlanta if the HBCU Championship had been played this year? As I see it not many. And the alums of the other school feel the same way. Do not see the game making any money unless of course a really big name brand sponsor underwrites it. Of course I would have been there to watch Alcorn crush Morgan.....lol

Exactly!!!!There is noway in the world that match could have made money unless it was played in a 2A Highschool stadium. Just another reason why I hate the entire concept; I do like the MEAC / SWAC challenge at start of the year.
The entire concepts seems like it was born out of 1980. I remember as a kid going with my father in like 1980 to a MEAC vs. CIAA football game. All I remember is that it was in Richmond dont even remember who played.....

Gold Bowl was what it was called. NCCU/A&T played in it a few times.
