Andrews' Cartwright signs with A&T Feb. 06, 2014 @ 07:07 PM Michael Lindsay
HIGH POINT —Marquell Cartwright has always had a passion for playing football. It struck a chord with him when he started playing, and since then he’s devoted himself to playing it the best he can. That dedication has helped T.W. Andrews win a state championship and now helped him sign with N.C. A&T State to continue his career at the NCAA Division I level. “It feels exciting to be able to move on to the next level and try to accomplish more things, achieve more goals,” he says. “It’s just a blessing because a lot of people don’t even get offers. To be able to get a scholarship and go to school, it’s a very good thing.” For the rest of the story: www.hpe.com/sports/x849282122/Andrews-Cartwright-signs-with-A-T

though his playing time was limited in the shrine bowl, he looked pretty doggone good on the few carries he got. pretty hard to beat out the kid that's going to unc, i think his last name is hood. dude had offers from schools like alabama and he actually accepted an offer from notre dame but later backed out to sign with unc. matter of fact, i watched hasaan klugh in the shrine bowl too. and just like cartwright, his playing time was limited. but i particularly like seeing klugh hand off to cartwright for a pretty nice run. i was so "proud" to see an aggie quarterback handing off to an aggie running back in the shrine bowl game...

Does anyone know the other schools he considered? GETTING INFO on other schools that recruited OUR signees is "info" missing from OUR coaches' description of signees at signing party...why??? Are they SOOO QUIET about this info, which fans at schools such as USC,Texas,or Alabama get Routinely at their signing parties.

T.W. Andrews’ Raynard signs with Aggies Feb. 07, 2014 @ 06:03 PM Michael Lindsay HIGH POINT — Some people don’t like the pressure that comes with playing quarterback. Lamar Raynard thrives on it. During his career at T.W. Andrews, Raynard became a standout player who did everything to help his team win games and ultimately a state championship. Now, he’s signed to continue his career at the NCAA Division I level at N.C. A&T State University.“It feels great,” he says of signing. “I give all the glory to God, my family — my mom and dad especially. It just feels good to sign on National Signing Day, and to go to college and get an education, that’s the most important thing. Growing up in High Point, Raynard, the son of Cynthia Dixon and Eddie Raynard, began playing football at 5 years old at the Ragsdale YMCA as a quarterback. He moved to receiver at 9 years old, but at Welborn Middle he returned to quarterback where he’s played ever since. “You’re just a leader, and I like all the pressure to be on me,” he says of playing quarterback. “If we win, all the credit goes to my teammates. But if we lose, I want the pressure on me because somewhere I didn’t do something right. I just like being the quarterback, but it’s not cut for everybody For the rest of the story: www.hpe.com/sports/highschool/x849282517/T-W-Andrews-Raynard-signs-with-Aggies

oldschoolaggie the kid that is going to unc how did he look compared to our superstar cohen? unc's hood is a different type of runner compared to cohen. hood is bigger and more physical than cohen, and probably just as fast if not faster. but new recruit (cartwright) is a lot like hood in terms of running style and physical build. cartwright is built almost just like hood and runs hard like hood does. but there's something about hood that sets him apart from our guys. hood got most of the carries in the shrine bowl and justifiably so. there's no shame in playing second fiddle to hood, hood is one of the top running backs in america that's coming out of high school this year. unc is "lucky" that they got him. i mean, you don't get a full ride to alabama and notre dame by accident. hood is the truth! that being said, i think our folk are really gonna like cartwright. he's a poor man's version of hood and i see him having major impact as a true freshman. he's the perfect "change up" back to compliment cohen. i like that cohen and cartwright have different running styles, but both are very effective and they will complement one another. there will be no drop off when cartwright back ups cohen. and now that we've got foster along with a very viable compliment of receivers, this should be a good offensive year for us provided that the "big uglies" up front uphold their end of the bargain...

This is the year we can expect last year's recruiting class to hit the field. So, last year's class was good for us so I am expecting for this to be a good year. We recruited o-linemen last year, this year we get to see if they are any good. Now, with an influx of transfers here and there, we should be nice. Potentially, we have the offensive leader to get us over that hump in Foster.

One thing for sure is this year's offensive line will be a lot taller and quicker. We still have three starters back in Canty, Robinson, and Kay so we won't be as green as people may think. We red shirted a lot of big uglies last season so we finally have the depth and numbers in the trenches.

OSA HOOD is about 225 like the kid from Tarboro at Ga. Also Hoods 40 was in the 4.3 /4.4 .

Hood is not as fast as Cohen. Watched him against Dudley, he does not have that type of speed/quickness....however, he is the real deal
