The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Association, Incorporated celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Franklin E. McCain ‘64. Dr. McCain passed on January 9, 2014 after a brief illness in Greensboro, N.C. “The alumni association mourns the loss of Dr. Franklin McCain. His contribution to our alumni association, university community, and the world transcends race, class, and culture. His legacy will continue to be embodied in the work of the alumni association, reminding us that we must not ask permission to seek change, but be the change that we want to see,” said National Alumni Association Board of Directors Chair Dr. Claudette Bennett ’75. “The Washington, DC chapter mourns the loss of a District of Columbia native and long-time North Carolinian Dr. Franklin McCain. His contributions to the world will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of Aggies and the world,” said Brandon Bellamy ’08, president of the Washington, DC Alumni Chapter. Dr. McCain was a longtime member of the alumni association and University of North Carolina System’s Board of Governors. Furthermore, he has served as chair of A&T’s Board of Trustees and has received numerous awards for his service. The association will continue to keep alumni abreast of details for the forthcoming memorial service. Source: Link to Message
