Attendance was just 16,052 for the NCCU game.
That is what happens when you charge $35 for general admission and $15 for youth tickets.
Say what you want, but A&T priced itself out of a sellout last weekend.

$35 was to much; if I didn't have season tickets I wouldn't have gone.

NCCU charged $35 last year as well. The difference is that O'Kelley-Riddick only holds about 10,000 folks, and the game means more to their fans than it does to us.... well, maybe not this year....
The other difference is that they stunk it up this year with the whole Frazier thing.... a better product on the field from NCCU would help.
So, I'm not surprised we didn't sell out.

I would prefer a $10 reduction on reserve seats but the bottom line figure without concessions and parking is still just over $500K after expenses at the gate. Numbers are indeed off but profits again are up with the Game Zone.
I think we would be better served with a lower early bird season ticket and tail gate prices. Make the period June1-August 1 then jack them up.

The price wasn't the problem. It was how the teams fared throughout the year. An 8-2 (or better) Aggie team would've have brought more Aggies to the game. Central game into the game with a losing record. In this day and age, you just cannot say "Aggie-Eagle" and expect people to flock to the stadium anymore..... We really need to consider: 1) Moving it back to Labor Day (Each team is 0-0 and hope springs eternal). 2) If not back to Labor Day, do it when the weather is warmer. Frankly, I was shocked 16,000 people came to this game. Outside of it being our major rival, what was really special about this year's game? Again, I was pleasantly surprised 16,000 people showed up; neither team had a pizzaz factor coming into this game.....

This joint needs to be on labor day wknd. However idk if anyone would do as well as NCCU in a cold Aggie Stadium this late in the year. SCSU had promise years ago.
It was too high... based on some of the comments from friends.

Would the price have been too high if both teams were 8-2, vying for the MEAC title and a playoff birth???

Remember, Hilton keeps telling us it's about revenue. Lower the price by $10 and you probably need close to a sellout to make up the difference. There was no way this game would have sold out even at $25.

IMO yes ...... This game should be 20 for general and 30 for reserve. Especially in this economy

I was pleasantly surprised at the crowd ,considering both teams records coming in to this game . To get that many black folks out under those circumstances and the cold weather was pretty darn good . We will lead the conference in attendance no doubt .

I'm NOT for moving the game back to Labor Day weekend, I enjoy having that weekend back so to speak...maybe warmer weather would bring more folks out, however we all know that "We" like to go to events, not football games...Times have changed, but notice that people still refer to this game as the Aggie/Eagle Classic...Folks want a spectacle (for lack of a better term) and you have to put more on the table than just the Rivalry now, it is what it is...and we either adapt or perish

I'm opposed to moving this game to Labor Day or reducing the price. Like Decks says this is about revenue. What other team would draw 16k this late in the season under less than ideal conditions. This rivalry week position now frees up Labor Day for another 16k or greater opportunity After all we drew 13k for Elon a week after Labor Day. Now let’s build rivalry week into the place to be.
The price is something that Central and us have to stay in agreement. It benefits both if we keep the price at the same level. Granted we are probably stretching the market at this price point, but 16k showed up. I know, people keep yelling, but we can get 40k+ on Labor Day, but what is our net at a neutral site verses our net on 32k+ for two games at Aggie Stadium?
