Even with Morgan set to come back this week, Miller is our best option at quarterback. Yes, he makes a lot of turnovers, but that's because he often is trying to make something out of nothing. Once he gets a real QB coach (hopefully after this season) and learns to play within himself, I believe he can be a top tier MEAC quarterback. As he has shown the past two weeks, he has a strong arm, is pretty accurate, and can make plays with his feet. I can't stress again how much not having anyone on the staff who knows anything about the QB position is holding him back. Get him a QB coach and he will be ALL-MEAC by the end of next season. Mark that down.

And Trues, before you say anything smart, think back to that 25-yard bullet he threw to Chaz Dawson last Thursday. That was just a glimpse of what he can do.

BT, He has to get stronger. His ball speed is nowhere near what it should be. And someone needs to show him how to make better decisions. Not tell him, show him(what to look for, what to do, what not to do, how to do it, when to do it). And he holds the "rock " like Casino used to(loaf of bread). That's poor coaching, period. He's been in the program two years and the coaches seemingly accept that.

You're right, it doesn't take a QB Coach to teach that! Fobbs should teach him that if there's nothing there and you have to get out of the gates, tuck the ball under your arm...dammit! As matter of fact, he should have been taught that in high school! Those are basic fundamentals!

Hello BDF...! I know that I am new to this board, but not new to coaching.. I was at the NCCU game. I look forward to coming back for homecoming too. But I must say about the QB situation... Teaching a kid to read defenses is not as hard as it sounds... But getting the kid to tranfer that teaching to the field is something different. I see Herb check down to 2nd and 3rd receiver at practice, but hardly ever in a game. He has to have the confidence to check down, before checking out.. Of the pocket that is. I happen to be an offensive coordinator also. Herb's biggest asset contributes to his biggest weakness. He is very athletic, but does not protect the ball when he is in traffic. Mike Vick got away with that because most of the time he is the quickest & the fastest person on the field. Herb is not Vick.. So he has to protect the ball better.. and learn to check down.. If anyone wants the check drill.. Just hit me up. I woulkd be more than happy to share it. Any coach, any player...I did not gradute from college after going for 2 yrs I dropped out.. But I have had over 5 offers to coach at colleges. But not having that degree has stopped those offers. But I would be more than willing to send the drill to someone that has a friend on that staff.. I don't want to overstep my bounds by doing it myself..

The hell with sending a damn drill tape unc.
We need you on staff right now. Pack your bags and welcome to Greensboro. You can work on your degree while you coach. You can coach special teams too.
I am not joking either.

I ain't on the staff. Call or e-mail Coach Fobbs and Miss Todd.
I'm serious man!!!! I am almost certain you would be able to work on your degree while coaching. You might even be able to get on campus housing in order to cut the expenses.
Hell, if you join the staff I'll rejoin the Aggie Club.

Herb is an OK QB if he can stop turning the ball over. he needs to learn to eat it and live to fight another day. Start understanding where you are on the field and that a unnecessary pass can cost you some points. just becasue no one is open doesn't mean you have to run or squeeze the pass in there. Throw it out of bounds.
if he does that we will start winning. If he would have already done that we would be at least 2-3 right now.

I remember when Purvis from WSSU was struggling
His sophmore year he was 66-166 for 821 yds 3 TD and 6 Int . He did have about 400 yds rushing gross but he would throw the ball all over the place. Now as a senior he is in the 1/2 of meac QB

I would take herb for 2 weeks and drill him hard. He has the tools and the ability. He also has the coaching.. But he has to apply it to every play.. EVERY PLAY! If that happens, he puts his team in better position late in the game. When you have QB's that put the defense inside of the 20 yard line to play D.. The odds are not in thier favor.. Ask Rex Grossman...!

I BELIEVE IN ROB'S DADDY.
Can you bring your brother? We need a little help on defense too.
I am very serious.

Superman gave us a glimpse of his true greatness in the Howard loss. Those touchdown passes and that run were things of pretty.
Once again, just give him a real QB coach and he will be All-MEAC.
