If the QB's and WR's are throwing and catching on air I'm not getting excited about anything. The only thing I would be able to tell based on throwing on air is QB footwork, zip on passes etc and route running for WR's. If they are still throwing and catching good against defense then maybe I'll get excited

Is it me or Broadway put some weight on.
Man Femi is huge. That cat looks like a JR already. How did Mayhew look against the other RBs. I am glad to see Mr 21 Dvonte graham back.
How did the OL look?

Not a lot to report from practice except they are working the players really hard. If they are not ready when the season start it won't be because they were not working. From what I saw today they were working on a lot of special team stuff and running a lot of drills. They did some 7 on 7 and Lewis Kindle looked good, but the best looking were the DB's. They have a lot of speed and quickness on defence. They did a few plays near the end of practice with the full offence going against the full defence. They were not hitting but they had on full pads. Right now it looks as if Dorian Belcher Fr is the #2 QB. He looked better than the other 2 Fr QB's but you know that could change as camp goes on. I was told that the first live scrimmage will be Thursday night 7pm to 9pm. They have a long ways to go but I get the feeling that they will be ready by the first game. Thursday night will tell us a lot. We will see!

Our Defense will easily be our strong point this year. Teams will be hard pressed to score more than 21 points against us on a good day. Our issue will be our passing game.

I agree that our defense will be our strong point this year. Our Secondary is a BEAST!! Since the return of D'Vonte Graham all of them are playing with a little extra confidence.Yesterday during the team period Graham picked Off A 3-step pass from Kindle & was styling and profiling all the way to endzone!!

my biggest concern is the wr's. are any of the wr's stepping up? who's gonna replace wallace miles' production? who's gonna be our "go to" receiver this year? who's gonna make the difficult catches "in traffic" this year?
we need at least one wr who is all meac caliber, but i prefer two...

I think Kindle and the other QB's throwing against our secondary will be a great thing for their development. We should have a couple of guys from our secondary invited to NFL rookie camps next year.

I posted earlier that the first scrimmage was on Thursday night, but while out at practice this morning I was told by a member of the football staff that the scrimmage is actually Saturday night 7p to 9p. My bad!!!

I don't think it's abnormal for the offense to be behind the the defense at this stage of the season. As the season goes along...I think we will be pleasantly surprised with the WRs.

Your defense better be ahead of offense in the preseason going at each other eveyday and you pretty much know what plays they are calling in advance.
If your offense is scoring a lot of points in preaseason drills and scrimmages, best not to show up for the regular season because you will definitely have serious issues going into the opening games which are typically close unless you have a real pasty to open with.
