I have tried to stay out of this, but I am so disappointed and troubled on how some many people pray on the demise of another man as if he's not human. I know that as a coach you put yourself in position to be judged, but this is worst then how the Tea Party treats Obama. It's sad that home games feel like away games. From the tip ball to the end win or lose I hear the players and coaches being critized from there own fans. That's tough for 18 to 21 years old to deal with, especially playing at home. I feel like Eaves has done some questionalbe things, but has also had some success. Winning rival games against UNCG, going on conference winning streaks on the road(They probably feel more comfortable). This is sad. Eaves developed Thomas Coleman from a skinny atheletic Shot blocker/defensive player to a 17 ppg beast by his Sr. year where he had NBA try outs. Adrian Powell was looked over by several school out of high school and has developed as a potential all conference player for next year. I've followed Aggie basketball for the last 3 years, and know I may not be as passionate as others, or an Alumni but it doesn't make since to have 6 sr. play with a new coach when next year is potentially the best chance we have to win something. From understanding We have size coming back next(Cristian Henry 6-8 220, and Jacob Carson 6-9 212). Khalid King 6-3 combo score from Ohio, and potentially one of the most underated PG's in the state Shaun Stewart (Sun Valley) 4A 6-1 PG 26 ppg, 6 assist, 6 reb. I say don't give him a contract for the future, but let him earn it this year with such a promising team. Like my Grandfather once said "It's a poor frog that don't praise his own Pond". Lte's be supportive of our players and coach! thank you.

cnixon, some folk (myself included) will argue that coleman should've reached his potential long before his senior year. but i respect your point of view. i haven't seen anything that would suggest to me that eaves' players don't like him. but ya can't argue the fact that the man has been an utter failure during the most important time of the season, which is meac tournament time.
i don't need to hash out his record because you already know it. however, i do agree that some folks are too harsh by their remarks about him. calling for a coach to be fired comes with the territory of being a division 1 head coach. it happens at every d1 school in the country. just as i advised relatives of players who get criticized, i'd advise a coach the same way. if ya want the criticism to go away, then prove your critics wrong. unfortunately, eaves has not done that.
however, i realize that eaves is a human being like everybody else and there should be a certain level of respect paid to him. some of the comments regarding him have been overboard, in my opinion. but we shouldn't hide from the fact that his tournament record is "horrible". it can't get much worst. 18% winning percentage at the meac tournament over 9 years? no major d1 school would tolerate that. a lot of aggie alums have completely stopped going to the meac tournament because by the time we get there, we don't have a men's team to cheer for.
so to me, a lot of eaves' criticism is justified. but some of the "overboard" stuff needs to be toned down...

A&T will be OK and the team will get better some times a coach runs his course as in the case of coach Eaves (been here to long with no championships of any kind and looses in the first round year after year) It's a no win for him. Eaves could win the MEAC next year but I feel that it would be TOO LITTLE TO LATE for him at A&T.

Well, there you have it. Now I have to listen to 2 months of speculation and opinion on the new bball coach. Personally, I'm just glad they went ahead and made a decision.

its kinda sad, really. i never want to celebrate someone losing their job. i absolutely wish eaves the very best, i really wish he could've taken us to the next level. but i think its the right decision.
now hopefully folk will leave him alone and let him transition out with some dignity. good luck coach eaves! i'm sure you will land somewhere on your feet. the one thing that no one can take away from you is the fact that you dug us out of the rut that you found us in when you arrived. and for that, i am appreciative...
