It's too early but it looks like we have gotten depth at OL, DL, WR/KR, QB, RB,and DB. I'm sure a few more will be signed.
Hopefully, "Funk Master Supreme" will find some quality talent at TE and in the kicking game.
Interesting to note that all playas mentioned so far are from NC or SC. My sources tell me 18 potential recruits were at the BB game Saturday when we played UMES.

If you can win the in-state battles in recruiting against your conference rivals consistently then you'll ill get the first pick of best talent available and begin to win year after year after year. Its a dominoe effect that can and will demoralize a lot of competing programs over a short period of time.

does anybody know anything about this qb that committed to howard university? his name is jamie cunningham from greensboro and went to southern guilford high school. dude is 6'4" tall, but i don't know anything about him. if he can play, it'll a shame that we let him out of our own backyard. howard had an outstanding freshman qb last season, dude will have his work cut out for him to get some playing time for his first 3 years...

We got a qb from Durham. So I would have to say that he.might not have the grades.

Cunningham is a tall pro style QB at 6-4, a nice passer but severely lacks foot speed (4.9)and skinny as a rail at 170. He's a better fit for Howard. He's still two years away from being serviceable. He has to grow into that frame.
Belcher is in a totally different class above him, 6-2, 208, big, fast, quick, with a cannon. He's a read option QB so DC's will have to account for him as everytime we run the football. He's a back breaker of a QB to try to defend against.
If something happens to Kindle, God forbid, we won't drop off one bit with him under center.

thanks, aggieone for the info. and yeah, i like the belcher kid. he's got a promising future and it certainly does feel good to have more than one legitimate qb on the roster.
plus, we've got to remember, this guy averaged 40 yards per punt in high school. broadway killed two birds with one stone. i don't know if broadway will use him as a starting punter, but certainly at the very least he's an insurance policy for the punting game...

There are. A couple will blow the lid off the experts and the press. Wow...I can't wait until tomorrow then! To be quite honest, I'm thoroughly impressed with the commitments so far! That Marquis Gorham kid is a real burner!

Gorham is scary fast!! The big thing I love about this class are the Southern Durham trio on offense a really good quarterback and his two top receivers from a very successful, strong, and explosive offensive high school program and were solidly coached.
These guys know each other so well and that means tons with your passing game like it did with Kindle and Miles last season.
Our filling depth woes on defense was no surprise to me except us getting MLB Alan Keyes,. He is a true monster in the middle with great size and speed to the ball. We flat out stole him from ECU.
On a personal note and comment-
As far as Belcher's punting is concerned, most all freshman cut their chops on special teams to start their careers at some time or another. Broadway showed how to really stretch a dollar on limited numbers.
On the concern about the tight end spot that people didn't get to see or hear about last year and need o keep their eye on was big David Brown (6-5, 250) from out of mountains who was red shirted last year awaiting his turn who chose to come here and rather than waste his career at Western Carolina or sitting on the bench at UNC or Clemson.
Watch spring ball closely for two guys I just love in Chapel Hill 3-star super fast wide out Dequan Swann (6-2,205)who sat out because of torn hamstring late in his senior year and Derek Grant (6-4,210) from High Point Central (MSL) who has all the tools you would ever want in a tall wideout.
Both of these guys were definitely headed for the ACC before untimely injuries hit them in early rounds of the state playoffs.
Let's be frank, the kicking chickens in Durham are sweating over there grabbing up a bunch of unknown juco transfers and in large numbers of what I would describe as nice second tier prospects.
Two years ago it was a decent strategy in a weaker league but there's just too many good coaches and teams that lock down their states and urban areas in these recruiting wars early on in this conference.
That's how Frazier made in the SWAC. It just won't cut it in the MEAC over the long haul even by their own admission of concern by several of their fans on the Onnidan Board and in my office as well this morning.
Losing Belcher, Prince, and Bullock right in their backyard really hurt them deeply. Kids nowadays are a lot more savvy than they were in past years, want play early, and they can see the future better than us fans.
Also give credit where credit is due, parents are really doing a much better job in researching academics; doing their homework on these coaches in regards to their honesty and reputation.
Even through Coach Broadway seems aloof to the average fan, he's an extremely personable, a deeply rooted family guy with very high character guy who believes in the plan that, even though he won't ever admit it publicly he's is a year ahead of his schedule.
The best part is these kids are not academic worries coming out of high school. Researching these commits tonight most of them will be engineering and technical science majors.
I'll interview coach tomorrow night so relay any questions you may have to me tonight and tomorrow.

Will Broadway expect any of these recruits to jump in the fray and play immediately or will they redshirt?
Looking at the recruits HS stats and measurable info, those DT's should be seeing plenty of early PT.
