It time to get off the Homecoming stuff and start talking about the Bison. I think the Bison have a pretty good defense and have a great WR in Carter. I think the young QB Howard is decent. The one bad thing for Howard is special teams and I can see it biting them in this game with an Aggie blocked punt or a return for six.

this is a very "dangerous" game for us. this game will be harder for broadway to sell to the guys than the bcu and dsu games. we've beaten howard 3 years in a row, even despite the woes of our previous regimes. if ever there's a time for "complacency" to set in, its now.
so far, broadway has done a masterful job preparing our guys "mentally" to go out and compete. but i suspect he'll have a tougher job doing that this week. we're about to undergo our toughest stretch of our schedule. the howard game is the first of 4 consecutive meac road games with nsu next, then famu, and then scsu.
i think its "critical" that we remain focused and do our best to pull this game out, because the next 3 are gonna be even more difficult and they're all on the road. plus, if nsu gets upset by bcu (i'm predicting they will) this thursday nite, our aggies will sit atop the meac standings all by ourselves (at least for 2 days). and if we beat howard, it could last at least another week...

I feel Larry Raper will continue his improved play at WR. They have put in a few new wrinkles for Raper to take advantage of his speed. He should be even faster on that turf at Howard. Not just Raper but T. Warren, R. Lewis, W. Miles and Mayhew will all be faster on that turf. Look for J. Farrel to run back his first kickoff for a TD this season. I expect us to play very well, especially on offence.

I see another big game out of Mayhew as well. Let's be honest...MSU defense wasn't bad, we were just better prepared. Not only that, I think our o-line has really gelled together. I don't see a shut out or anything, but I do see us winning this one.

Dont forget they beat Fl. A&M. and we playing them away. It is going to be a great game. I hope we can pull it out.
One thing about it when we finish this crazy road schedule NCCU should be a joke to win at home LOL

One game at a time. Mayhew and the other backs will be the key!!! If we get the run game rolling. I would feed them until they blow up . Passes to the backs in the flats and screens should open up a lot for us. Howard likes that 4-3 but they will shaft into a 3-4 are a cover 6 before the ball is snapped so Kindle has to be on point at all times . That Kid McGhee is no joke he can throw and run if he has to. The DL must put heat on him. Willie Carter likes the sideline routs a lot .Keith Pough LB, HE'S A HITTER !

Aggie Game Noteswww.ncataggies.com/fls/24500/Football_2011/A&TGameNotes11.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=24500North Carolina A&TRecord: 4-2; MEAC: 3-0 Head Coach: Rod Broadway (72-25, 9th season) A&T Record: 4-2, 1st season National Rankings: SBN No. 9 HowardRecord: 3-4; MEAC: 2-2 Head Coach: Gary Harrell (3-4, 1st season) HU Record: Same National Rankings: None Road DogsAggies begin stretch where they play four straight on the road• North Carolina A&T is a legitimate contender for the MEAC title. Just as they enter contention, the Aggies begin a difficult portion of their schedule. Starting this week at Howard, the Aggies play four straight games away from home. Included in that four-game stretch is an improved Howard team, current No. 1 MEAC team Norfolk State, defending co-MEAC Champion Florida A&M and perennial MEAC power S.C. State. If the Aggies want to continue their amazing run, it will be done in enemy territory. • North Carolina A&T has won its last three matchups against Howard. The Aggies last two trips to Washington, D.C., has been during the Bison’s homecoming. N.C. A&T is 8-11-2 in the nation’s capital. • Over the last six seasons, Howard and North Carolina A&T have stumbled to the bottom of the MEAC standings. Howard has not had a winning season since 2004 and the Aggies last winning season occurred in 2003. Over the previous six seasons, the two teams have combined to go 29-104. In the same time frame, S.C. State is 52-18. But the trends are changing for both schools. The Aggies and the Bison were picked to fi nish 9th and 11th respectively in the conference during the preseason, but the Aggies are 3-0 in the MEAC and the Bison is 2-2 with a win over MEAC co-champion Florida A&M. •The Aggies have held four different opponents to under 50 yards rushing. The last time the Aggies had as an effective rushing defense was in 1999 when they held fi ve different opponents to under 50 yards rushing. • For the second straight week, the Aggies are ranked second in the nation in total defense. They have the fourth-best run defense in the country. The Aggies lead the MEAC in both statistical categories. Before Delaware State’s third-quarter touchdown on Saturday, the Aggies went 10 straight quarters without giving up a touchdown. The Aggies last three opponents have failed to compile more than 40 yards rushing. Bison Game Notesstatic.psbin.com/p/d/1wkkp8monvobjk/HUFB_gamenotes_game8.pdf

Howard still bothers me. Our derfensive line will do their job, our special teams will do theirs. It's our secondary that I'm worried about. Howard throw the ball. If our defensive secondary bring their A-game, we'll kick Howard's butt. Plus, I've got 20 bucks riding on this game with my son...a Howard grad (sic)!!

Our special teams were not so special today. And we couldn't stop Howard's passing game. But that game's behind us and now it's time to focus on NSU. Go Aggies!

I've been saying this all along that our defensive secondary is suspect...now we know. But, my aggies are still the best out there. I'll try to see them live in Norfolk next week.

Hell (econgrad71) The hold team was suspect and still is!!!THIS LOSS WILL DEFINE THIS TEAM AND HOW THEY COME BACK FROM IT AT NSU. We no that they play with heart, We no that they can win, But what we don't no is WHAT WILL THEY DO AFTER A CLOSE LOSS. This should be Interesting to see!!!

Howard's Offense held the ball for 51 minutes to our 23 minutes of offense. You can't win if you don't score!

OK this is just a bump in the road. We did score and we played a good game. This is a learning year for A&T and if you ask me the Team is playing a Hell of a lot better each game. We are out out manned but yet we are in 1st place. Now we will see how we come back from a lose. this is a defining moment for A&T. Now we will see what we really have!!!

Econgrad71, you were "spot on" about the secondary. There were about 3 or 4 blown coverages by the secondary. I think one resulted in a touchdown, the other resulted in the 2-pt conversion and in two others the QB and receiver were not on the same page so no completion. Howard has a dynamite of QB. He is smart (he moved his feet to get space and not take off running like so many black QBs especially in the MEAC), he is accurate, he has the physical stature (6'3" and could grow to 6'5") and "oh my gawd!" he is a freshman. I thought Walley of NSU was the best passing QB in the MEAC but now I think Greg McGhee may be the best passer in the MEAC. I think he has potential for the NFL but he must seek out the best coaching he can afford in the off-season and have a hunger to learn and get better and not get the big head.
