According to the Meaczone:
Here's what happened...FAMU had a 21-0 lead in the 3rd quarter and got real conservative.
However the 4th quarter was just down right embarrasing..FAMU's defense stopped Howard on 4th down, but got a roughing the passer call...Howard punches it in two plays later...FAMU 21 Howard 7...then Howard scores on a long TD...21-13 FAMU...so inside two minutes, Howard scores another TD and misses ANOTHER extra PAT...FAMU 28-19...Howard then does an onside kick...we rcover, but they say we were offsides...on the rekick, Elliot drops the ball and Howard recovers...they drive quickly for a TD...28-26 FAMU...then Howard kicks it deep for some reason with 26 seconds left...FAMU walks away with the victory, rght??? WRONG...FAMU kneels on 1st down, but HU has 3 timeouts...on the next play with 24 seconds left, we decide to run the ball...Fleming gets hit as he's handing the ball offf and fumbles...HU recovers...Howard then moves into FG posistion...they miss the game winner, but FAMU calls a time oout...GUESS WHAT...we didn't have any...Howard gets to rekick and they make it...Howard win 29-28

And they haven't they run Taylor completely out of Florida yet? Well...we're only 11 miles from the Florida-Georgia line, so anything is possible!

I've gone to only one FA&MU game in Bragg stadium in Tallahassee but this may be the year for a second trip there. If we can keep improving and stay healthy we may just have a shot at them. It sure would be nice to give them some payback for so many years of losses.

That would be a fun trip since Joe Taylor is giving away wins to visiting teams no matter how big of a margin you're trailing by.
Seriously though, do not be surprised if his team doesn't quit on him if they suffer another embarrassing loss if they haven't already.
All those transfers they brought in like BCU and Hampton have done and what it has gotten them is a lot of dissension and aggravation amongst their four year guys who are actually better ball players who feel like they been kicked to the curb because these guys had D-1 schollys.
Remember there is a reason why they have dropped down to FCS and only a handful that do are really true D-1 level performers. When a good FCS coach looks at these guys closely they look at their character and attitude and if they will mesh with their current squads. Having 3 or 4 good finds are nice but they better be special.
My thoughts are most MEAC coaches grab them because they become available and its far easier than recruiting high school kids and they figure they have to do less teaching and coaching.
Unfortunately, its the HBCU short cut answer and often the lazy way to try to become a winner real fast.
I mean when some of these coaches bring in 8-10 guys like FAMU did or 7-8 like BCU or Morgan , well, you've seen the results.

to my surprise, i think what we're seeing in joe taylor at famu is a coach who excelled at hampton because of hampton's support system. he's not apparently a bill hayes type who can turn lemons into lemonade with very little administration support.
i watch coach taylor's tv show every week on directv and he doesn't strike me as being a very good vocal leader like broadway is. no disrespect, but on tv, coach taylor comes off as having the vocabulary of a 4th grader. i don't sense he has the inspirational skills of a brian jenkins or even a broadway for that matter.
i think he's in trouble now. i don't think he has the kind of support system at famu that he had at hampton. no way in hail would howard have beaten a joe taylor coached hampton team, just no way in hail...

We almost lost a game in 2003 to Morgan just like that because we didn't take a knee to run out the clock and instead fumbled it to them giving Hill-Eley a chance of pulling out a win but our defense stepped up with an interception on the next play. Then finally, we decided that we better take that knee after all.
But that was during Small's tenure. And doesn't he still work for Joe Taylor as his DC too?

Do not underestimate Coach Taylor each game/team is different . That's why you play them one at a time. I could careless about FAMU. My mind is on DSU and hoping for a win on Homecoming .Their will be time for FAMU when we get to FAMU. I just don't wont to see A&T"S name popup on the MEAC UPSET board . So we need to focus on DSU.

i agree, saabman. dsu is definitely our focus. but this thread is about the howard/famu upset. can't really discuss howard/famu exclusively without referencing aggie football.
i think its okay for fans to "kinda" look ahead a little. but the coaches and players dare not do so. their one and only focus as of their next practice should be dsu. not homecoming, just dsu...

Our program is built on focus. I could care less about all that other stuff. Lose concentration this week and take anyone likely and your season will go to hell in a hand basket.
Fans only need to look at the top four preseason picks. Only Norfolk has lived up to that hype and even they are nervous as hell as any front runner after their horserace game with DSU last week on the road.
Broadway knows his team must concentrate on containing DSU's passing offense and their quarterback while we go about executing our power running game and hitting our open throws and continue to play true Blue Death defense.
"We're not good enough to overlook anyone for any reason" - Coach Rod Broadway, A&T's 08/08/11 post game press conference.
