Congratulations to all including Martin for having the courage to fire Lee & his assistants and hire some excellent football coaches, particularly, since we had to go through Small, Fobbs and Lee in a row. That was brutal.....

I am very glad the discipline has come to Aggie football. My son played 4 years starting in 2006 as a walk on which was facilitated by Coach Ragsdale. Coach Fobbs was not interested in walk ons. It was a real bad experience for my son as well as those who played for Fobbs and Lee. He could have played a 5th year but refused and got a good job after graduating. I have many horror stories but I am glad to see some of the fellas who played with him finally getting a good experience at Aggie football. I rode to App just to see how this Coach would be because I missed the first game. We got beat but I saw a sideline that looked like the people knew what they were doing. Contratulations to the University for hiring a "football coach". It was a long time coming. Aggie Pride!!!!

JeffAggieFan...it's not that we are caught up in false hope this time. We can see improvement from week to week. At this stage in the game, it shouldn't even be about wins and losses...BUT we managed to get a win anyhow. How can that NOT be encouraging. In my opinion, the excitement is due to the fact that, us posters recognize good football and leadership even in a lopsided loss. Go back and read the post after the App. State game, folk were still saying this team is going to be okay...and in a year or two we will be competing for the MEAC title. So, the victory over MSU is a small step toward success and it gives us fans something to talk about and look forward to. I can't remember the last time our football team just out-right dominated an opponent...oh yeah, it was 2003. Our team went to MSU with 30 schollys and dominated them in every phase of the game, not just offensively, not just defensively, not just special teams but, ALL phases. You don't think that is a little bit encouraging???

MM73,
We appreciate your son's commitment to our football program during a very difficult period. As tough as it was for us in the stands, I'm sure it was tougher on the field/sidelines. He, and many other young men, displayed outstanding character - which will serve them well in their professional careers.
