I think a few ways to maintain lines of communications between the Athletic Department and Alumni/Fans could be these things: 1.) Posting the weekly press conferences on to www.ncataggies.com and a dedicated youtube channel. 2.) Sending weekly newsletters via e-mail to all season ticket holders and people who donated to A&T Athletics. 3.) improving the working relationship with the N&R and other media organizations in the Triad Area. For instance, our coverage in the N&R should be on the same level as WSSU's coverage in the Winston Salem Journal. These things will be easier to complete, I believe, if the SID was able to have a slightly bigger staff to work with. I also believe that using a resource such as the A&T Fan Board to also disseminate information is excellent as well. The BDF does an excellent job of getting the word out on various things and honestly, I received more information about A&T athletics from this website personally then anywhere else.

Good afternoon everyone.
1. We will continue to work on our website. We hope to hire a staff member who is dedicated to keeping the site current.
2. Pom-poms, or something like that, might work just as well as t-shirts for game immersion. I will look at what that would cost.
3. WSSU rivalry - we will bring it back in the future (don't even ask - I am not ready to give a firm date - ;D)
4. I like the idea of a newsletter, but I do not want to start something we cannot sustain. Let me give it some more thought, but we are going to do something...
Thanks again - I will try to get on the site weekly at least.

Mr. Hilton,
First off Welcome to BDV and thank you for taking the time to respond to our suggestions...
I know one concern for all FCS programs is the amount of donations received. I think a great Idea would be utilizing SMS short code systems to get instant donations from Aggie Fans. Short Code is increasing in popularity, and its practically effortless on the part of the donor. This could be advertised during athletic events and Im sure folks wouldn't mind texting 'AGGIE' to 90909 to give $10 to athletics that would just show up on their next phone bill.
This could be used not only for donations, but also getting fans to sign up for promotional giveaways, text blast related to A&T athletics and much more...

earl... who in their right minds built a fitness center with no basketball goals in it... ? when a&t has the opportunity to build a facility that will not only enhance the quality of life for its student body...but... will take care of athletic needs as well... why do "the folks in dowdy" short change the students... ? the decision making around here amazes me...

Reach out to the ex pro players, Alums and community, and make the price of games more reasonable to the Fans and community.

everyone knows every additional dollar is going to football...

Why do you need more basketball courts in the fitness center? Dang, there's plenty of basketball courts around A&T. It was appropriately done.

Hilton wasn't even AD when that fitness center was built and besides I don't think the AD has any control over what goes in the fitness center for the general student population. I mean REALLY is this really a concern when the court is literally right outside the center.

Since it was done with bond money they had to build it or lose the money. I think the facility is a good addition to allow the the students to have a facility that isn't technically an "academic lab." However, the building isn't big enough for the planned growth of campus.

There are 6 courts directly behind the fitness center as well as moore gym which regularly has open court.
If we want to be taken seriously we need to seriously look at our questions before we pose them.

as much as i love basketball, i think the fitness center is fine just the way it is. don't know if it is adequate for future generations, but its fine for now and the immediate future.
now, what i would complain about "if it is true", is a rumor once posted on bdv that the corbett center only has 2 portable baskets (which are used for games) available for the basketball teams to practice with. if true, i'd have a major problem with that!
