obviously, i can't see the pull out over the internet. and its good if they did include a pull out section on aggie football. but that still doesn't constitute adequate coverage of aggie football in my opinion. the first game is tomorrow, why not build up to opening day rather than "blindside" folk one day before the first game takes place? i mean, both wssu and nccu get far better coverage in their local newspapers than we do.
now, don't get me wrong, i'm not comparing a&t to acc schools. but you can find multiple articles on unc football almost "every day" in the local triangle newspapers and almost as often in the n&r. yet, it takes more than 3 weeks to even see a few sentences on aggie football. i'm not saying we should be covered on a daily basis like unc. but there's no reason we shouldn't see articles on a&t at least once a week or every week and a half...

The dynamics for coverage has changed. All print stories are now online. They rank interest based on article views. If A&T stories are not getting article views then they wont get much play. Its about revenue. They get paid by how many eyes are on each article.
So who does that actually fall on? Us as A&T fans and grads OR them? They have a business to run.

The pull-out section is something the N&R features every year and it is paid for by A£T. The N&R didn't run this just because they have Aggies Pride.
This is organized by Phillip McAlpin and comes out of the athletic development/Victory Club budget.
I think the N&R does the layout and Tyler Ball, Brian Holloway and a few others handle the writing.
But this more like an advertising insert than a special page feature.

Like I said, if we do it, it will get done.
Now, we shouldn't be paying for it, but that's another discussion for another day...

saabman..... Ed Hardin, ......."the first call I made was to the local paper (Lynchburg, VA) up there. And this is the God's honest truth. The people we talked to there did not know there was such a college. Much less a football team...... What started as a couple phone calls back in June to talk to the athletics director became a summer-long exercise in futility. No one called back. Not an AD, not a coach, not a secretary.......I'm beginning to wonder if there really is a football team from a college called Virginia University of Lynchburg." Boy-oh-Boy!!!

The first thing I did this morning was to go out to the N&R online to read the story about the game. You know what I found...not a damn thing. Just another story UNCG, A&T story. We don't get coverage unless someting goes wrong.
I live in the Raleigh Durham area and there is no doubt that NCCU gets better coverage than we do...and that's with UNC, NC State, and Duke in the same area.
There is more information on this website about A&T Football or any sport for that matter then in the N&R. Those guys don't even try.

You have noticed that N&R always put UNCG title first, even when it is incorrect like our School of Nanotechnology. I fault A&T for this because you have make N&R get your name straight.
