I guess the lesson learned is that anytime an HBCU brings in 18 Rivals 2 and 3 star athletes in a single class red flags need to go up.

This is a problem A & T can fixed . Stars do make a player coaching is the key. Stars also do not rate a players ACADEMICS that is why we need to have an Academic based program that is integrated in to the athletics program . That being Strong Academic support, Staff involvement that will spurred Academic improvement. We have to start FOCUSING ON THE STUDENT part of STUDENT-ATHLETE. To improve the challenges posed by APR measurements . Why don't we have any type of customized strategy programs designed to help the student-athlete GRADUATE in a timely fashion and keep their eligibility?? Why can't we have a TIMELINE STRATEGY PROGRAM IN PLACE??? like a lot of schools do . If we are going to move forward we need to start THINKING FORWARD!!!! IT'S NOT THE STARS THAT HAVE HURT A&T THE MOST ITS THE CLASS ROOM!! FIX THAT YOU FIX THE PROBLEM.

The process has started or was started last spring and throughout summer school when Rod Broadway came to town and a entire athletic deprtment was essentailly replaced from the rooter to the tooter, thus we will have 30 or so new players on the field in two weeks.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO BROADWAYS FIRST RECRUITING CLASS. I'M NOT LOOKING BACK TO SEE WHO IS STILL AROUND. I WOULD HOPE THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF OPENINGS WHEN THE OTHER CLASSES CLEAR OUT. THEN BROADWAY CAN PUT HIS STAMP ON AGGIE FOOTBALL.

Anyone has an update on this kid? Grambling recruiting: DT Eric Young; see video Two-star defensive tackle prospect Eric Young, of Hillside High in Durham, N.C., is interested in Grambling, among other programs. Young (6-2, 342; 5.72 in the 40) is ranked No. 110 in the nation among defensive tackles by ESPN Insider. He participated, earlier this year, in the Rivals.com Five-Star Showdown in Greensboro, N.C., run by former [...] January 4, 2010 | 0 Comments More Hinds Community College Young never showed up on the Hinds roster. Wonder what's happened to him?

COD Stabbing Case Delayed Again Jamie Smith is accused in the Sept. 1 stabbing of a former College of the Desert teammate at a Palm Desert apartment complex.
A hearing was put off today until early next year for a College of the Desert football player accused in the stabbing of a former teammate in Palm Desert.
Jamie Smith – a 19-year-old transfer student from North Carolina A&T -- faces attempted murder and other charges in the Sept. 1 attack at an apartment complex in the 77700 block of Country Club Drive.
Riverside County Superior Court Judge Thomas N. Douglass delayed the felony settlement conference until Jan. 13 at the request of Smith's LA-based defense attorney, Justin Sanders.
Mark McBride, a Beverly Hills attorney who is representing Smith along with Sanders, said more details about the night that led to Smith’s arrest and the end of his football career at COD would emerge throughout the course of the trial.
“He comes from a good family. He’s not a thug,” McBride said previously.
Prosecutors allege that Smith as involved in a fight when the victim slipped.
“The defendant continued after the victim and stabbed him multiple times on the upper body while the victim was on the ground,’’ he said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to sheriff’s investigators.
The fight apparently stemmed from a dispute between the classmates, sheriff’s officials said.
Coach Dean Dowty said Smith, who is being held in lieu of $1 million at the Indio Jail, was expelled from the team.

Too bad for the young man and the victim.
Smith, from Chicago, supposingly never got along with the teammate. Smith was accused of stealing something from the other guy and then they got in to it.
