A&T hall of famer Jim Toon died this past weekend. For those of you that knew him, you know the great person he was. For those of you that did not know him, he was a long time A&T employee, coach and was one of the best DB that ever played for A&T. He played for several years with the N.Y. Giants back in the 60's. He also was the head football coach at Fayetteville State. Toon was a father figure to a lot of the players that he coached here at A&T, and he continued to be that figure right up until his life ended this past weekend. Toon will be truly missed by all that knew him. My prayers go out to his family.

He was my dorm director when I was at T in the early 90's......a truly down-to-earth guy. I'm sorry to hear this unfortunate news....

A good man, a good coach during his time, and a fine gentleman who you could talk to about anything and get a straight answer. Our prayers are with his family. Rest in peace Jim.

I used to sit beside him at basketball games sometimes back when I lived in W-S between 2001-2006. He also was one of the Dean's of Scott Hall when I was a student in the early 80's. This is sad news and he will definitely be missed.
