Eagles are no different than buzzards or vultures in the wild. They constantly steal food from other birds and feed on some other animal's fresh kill or in hard times rotting corpses. Why should NCCU be any different?

In a couple of months most people will have forgotten that they were even in the Rose Parade except for Eagles. And as far as recruiting, how many students do they expect to recruit from California?

Additionally, they are still $200,000 short in paying for trip(according to the News and Observer). They hope to sell dvd's, t-shirts and etc to help offset cost. This was an expensive recruiting trip.

They may lure some in from California or they may not, but you can believe that they will use the invitation to participate in the parade as a marketing tool (literature, presentations, visits, etc.) in their recruitment of students. It may resonate with prospective students in areas that A&T and other schools normally recruit in.

I could see the Orange Bowl or the Gator Bowl because of the area of the east coast. Yes, that's all well and good but you still owing a 200K deficit which isn't good.
Folks, lets's get real here, NCCU is not going to sell 200K worth of DVDs and T's of the Sound Machine to cover that debt in this or the next fiscal year.

I hardly doubt they will get any one from out there. When the Marching Machine had went to Los Angeles in 2007 for the Angel City Classic, we got about 5 students from Cali who ended up marching. But I doubt NCCU will get anybody from there
