Martin really did more damage to this program that he could have ever imagined. Not only has he created yet more instability and uncertainty, but he has further added to our reputation in the coaching community of being a place where you go to have your career destroyed. Say what you want about Lee, but all of his peers respected him and knew his worth. When they saw how he ended up here (for the second time) it undoubtedly raised eyebrows. That is why you don't have a new coach right now ... Bornthrilla - please playa, Coach Lee's career??? This dude was not on anyone's radar for being a head coach. Please tell me who in the MEAC or CIAA was seriously considering him to be a head coach? What did folks see in Lee that made anyone think he was going to turn this program around? Aggie football under Lee was looking a helluva lot similar to Aggie football under Fobbs before he got axed. Lee freakin' lucked up into getting the head coaching job at A&T. This dude would have NEVER EVER gotten a chance to be a head coach anywhere. But good ole A&T - we'll give anybody the keys to the car. Seriously, where else would Alonzo Lee have gotten a chance to be a head coach? You say his career is over - the negro will be a defensive coordinator in no time at another MEAC school.....which is all he is in the first place. Sorry, but I ain't crying a river for Lee. In fact, tell him I want to be reimbursed the $250 for my season tickets from this past year. He made me lose all desire to come out to watch them play.....HOME OR AWAY......JUST LIKE FOBBS!!! next time, why don't you tell us what's really on your mind!

i can't lie...at a point during the season i felt the same way naborhoodsuperstar....the product on the field was just plain hard to watch. that has nothing to do with Lee as a recruiter, motivator and mentor to the guys on the team. simply put, it was a horrible product to watch on saturdays. i've seen high schools make better adjustments during a game. but, some kind of way, we are supposed to give him the benefit of the doubt based on all the other factors involved ie. resources and infrastructure. from what i saw this past season, if the resources were in place, i got no indication that our product would that much better

What indication do we currently have that our product will be that much better?
We haven't even heard a thing from our dear Chancellor regarding what he's looking for. We don't even have an AD. We don't have a coach.
Hate to tell you this, but we will be in the bottom two of the conference next year as well. At least with Lee we would be .500 or better (provided Chancellor Martin didn't continue to root for the other team). We definitely wouldn't be where we want to be, but it would be better than any season since 2003.
News flash, no coach on earth is going to come in here and do better than that, unless Martin opens the floodgates and allows him to recruit a ton of jucos and transfers. Fobbs got to, couldn't win a game with them, and screwed up the APR. Lee works at fixing the APR, takes the hit of not being able to recruit d-line help (or help anywhere) from the juco ranks, has to put a true freshman offensive lineman on defense, and gets fired.
Yeah, coaches are fighting with the opportunity to come here with that kind of recent history. That's why we have no news. Ain't no news to tell.

On January 3, 2011 all football programs with head football coaches will hit the recruiting trail hard and I do mean hard. The recruits are going to start visiting campuses starting the weekend of January 7th and 8th, 2011 through January 30th.
National signing day is February 2, 2011.
Junior College signing is now, December 15, 2010 through Janurary 15, 2011.
My educated guess is that A&T will introduce their new AD and head football coach on January 14th or 17th, 2011.

I think I read on another message board that the chancellor has been giving updates during his weekly meetings/ message? Can anyone confirm this?

If you have to ask, obviously the updates were not effective ...
