I still say tidewater area is where it should be. It's been in Richmond, Raleigh, and now Winston. Wasn't it even on Morgan State's or Deleware State's campus back in the day? it was held at morgan's basketball arena back in the day...

Thoughts from the MEAC: > Fmr. Comissioner Ken Free was there, He looks great. > The crowd was nice, the bottom of Joel was filled in....not packed, but filled in.
> I wondered how SCSU beat Morgan during the season as I watched the first half of their DSU game. However, they are scrappy and they run. I also did not think that DSU could come back from a 10pt hole with their slow type offense. But they did. I was a good game with SCSU calling time out while their own played heaved up a 'just inside' half-court shot that rattled in at the end of regulation. It was dis-allowed. I thought to myself, didn't we beat both of these teams this year.
> The SOS Band's Show was sold out.
>Hampton has this Sister that could play at the next level...not the WNBA, but overseas. I forgot her name,I think that it is Quannisha Perry. She has that strenght in her passes...not that lazy type slow ball type pass. Also she has nice moves.
>SCSU's Women are balling. You just see a lot of effort & hustle. Really all of the teams are up-and down the floor.
>I talked to Tweet. They are watching the games. The Aggie team still gets a lot of respect. I told her that I did not like seeing everyone else still having fun playing. She shook her head with that 'I know what you mean vibe'. I have a feeling that this next game (WNIT) will make us proud. It is weird not having a team to cheer for.
>Morgan has a good following.
>NCCU is ready to 'fall-in'. They are sooo ready to get their next chapter going. They want the Aggies in Durham.
> Why does the bottom have to fall out ( rain) during the tourny. It reminded me of the Aggie Eagle in Raleigh a few times.
>SCSU & Morgan will be a good game.
>Guard play rules. The brothers are smart, every trap, press is detected and solved. I noticed that DSU would trap just to speed up the shot-making of the other team. It is not necessarly a bad shot but it is not the normal offense either. Hence they get the ball back quickly.

The Tourny could use a BOTB. I know that it is expensive. But the bands were blasting the roof off of Joel! The high schoolers were loving it, with the chants and everything. The MEAC is at its best when everything is rolling and the game is tight! Young & old are up. They-the highschoolers would have that look on their faces of da*m they are having fun up in this piece! I want to go to that school!
Hampton played some spirituals during the warm-ups. It set that Booker T Washington type tone. And I'm so Glad, neck, still rules. MSU did 'do what you wanna' that new orleans 'rebirth brass band ' standard. Somebody did a bossa nova song...I forgot who.
I remember thinking that if I had a record lable, I would launch an American idol type contest for these talented members who wanted to tour HBCU's playing everything during the gigs. They can really play. They were still playing beside the buses in the parking lot before the rain.

> I tried to get some Tourny estimates, none so far. The Championship games were like last year, give or take, when NCCU/WSSU had a game.
> I think that the league will be ok if the fans keep traveling. NSU, SCSU, Hampton, MSU, A&T were all strong, Some wore their colors all the time & other broke them out during their respective game. > They needed to put a turnstile at the SOS Band & Chuck Brown shows. Chuck had about 3 thousand himself. I saw some brothers who were in town for the weekend. The CIAA has turnstiles at the fan fest.
> Savan. St had a few people and NCCU was in the house. Again, they (NCCU) are ready to get it popping again in Durham. The Indy schedule was rough they said. > Miss MEAC was announced and joined by Terrence J & Rocsi 106 & Park. Hampton had a big issue with their queen being white. She was 1st runner up for ms MEAC and everybody was looking around a bit. lol. BTW, She tanned up and prob. kept some people wondering. Hampton was over it and they were having fun.
> I have a friend who is a vendor & he said that the MEAC went up on prices while the CIAA went down on vendor prices. He also had problems with the Joel staff about playing music while vending last year. He did not come this yr. The vendors were weak this year. It was only about 8 or 9.
> the league should use the annex for a fan fest. Joel is nice and should be used.
> what happen to the step show? Spring break?
>Guard play rules. All of the men & women guards were fast & they ran all game. I dont see why the woman's team did not win more games ooc.

>Do we have the best colors in the league or not. That blue that we have is king. Black folks just look better in blue. I know that we have gold, but SSU, FAMU, and a bit with MSU have bright colors.
>Mr MEAC was there and Mr CIAA did not show this year.
>Wherever the Tourny goes, they must have a Jumbotron. Raleigh does it better with 'kiss-cam' & 'this person looks like' type cameos of the crowd. Also they do a 'dance contest type crowd' shot thing on camera that has everybody hyped.
> The League had a big blow-up of the brackets at the Marriott. It was a nice look.

Thanks Oleschool
>Hampton's Women deserve a look if you can get the game on TV. They have two guards that are too short to make major noise unless they run. An run they do! The Sister in the middle must have grown up balling with brothers, she has that edge about her.
>Hampton had this little girl ( about 3yrs old) with the team. I don't know if it is a teammate's daughter but they all had her back. Morgan remembered #4 the played who took ill.
> It was great to see all of the teams in one place. A&T still gets props from the other school's Alumni. They really want A&T to get back to the top in Basketball & Football.
> Some NSU Alumni are pissed that Rutgers replaced VSU during the normal labor day weekend. VSU is later but A&T is the first home game for the fish bowl classic.
> The league ran a lot of ads for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge(Football).
> Most fans are ok with their Football teams. NSU, Morgan, DSU, SCSU FAMU all are looking up. They love the 'Lee Fit' @ A&T. They feel that we are on the 'come-up.'
