They would have pick us 8th no matter what coach we have out there including Fobbs simply because this is a proving ground year. If we can get some surprising wins trust me we will be rank higher next year. You got to earn your ranking its not a giving.
Thrilla, You know my motto as long as Miller is not the starter we can win some this year. The best thing about this upcoming year is Miller is a senior.

After fours years you still hoping.
I guess you still hope that your former President Bush can still make a different too.

Trust me: the first 3 quarters of the 2007 Howard game and the 2008 JCSU game were not flukes. All Miller Time has to do is recapture that magic and we will be alright.

for the upcoming season, there's a bunch of nuances that encourages me. sometimes its the little things that make a big difference. i'm not in greensboro on a day to day basis, so i don't have first hand knowledge of what's going on with the football team. but from the outside looking in, i like what i perceive to be happening with out football program. and its just the little things.
for example, when sergio glenn quit the team, i got the impression that the general gave him an ultimatum and did not flitch. it's either my way or the highway, son! i'm sure that sent a big and bold message to the rest of the team that the general don't care who you are, he ain't taking no shiggidy off of nobody! that's the kind of discipline that our team sorely needed.
the fact that the general is forcing dudes to move their azzes back on campus is another one of those little things that will make a huge difference. and if the rumors are true that he persuaded a good number of the guys to pay their own way to summer school, that's another seemingly little thing that will pay big dividends.
clearly there's a sense that there's a new sheriff in town! and i'm encouraged because of it. and i stand by my notion that our talent is not as bad as a lot of people think. and with the speedster raper coming in, look for the offense to get a big boost!
if you look at last season, we were in a position to win every single game we played (except for hampton) until after the central game. we should have beat norfolk, coastal carolina, and definitely central! we could have and should have been 5-1 going into homecoming.
so its not like the general has to rebuild from scratch. by far, fobbs brought in his best recruiting class last year. plus, i think a few of lee's recruits can step in and contribute right away. i'm pretty sure lee won't redshirt raper and i'm praying that he won't redshirt dontavious payne. i think payne could become our 2nd or 3rd backup at running back 'cause payne is a straight up beast!
to me, after the central game last year, you can throw our performances completely out the window. we were in turmoil after that and some of the dudes had tanked. i think lee will get far more out of our team than what we saw last year.
all of the above are the reasons for my optimism but only time will tell if i'm on target...
