g'boro lost the bid for future usta jr olympics... this track meet brought in over 17mil dollars to the area this summer... yet if it were not for a&t... i would have never known about the meet...
g'boro needs to learn from eugene, oregon on how to publicize a track meet of this magnitude... the folks in eugene know how to roll out the red carpet & fill up a stadium...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the MEAC track championship track meet is that weekend Thur-Fri May 6-8 ( at A&T).

If I came down for graduation that day, I will dress for the graduation sat morning . Go eat afterwards and/or maybe even have a program- dinner for my child that afternoon. I do not see many people saying after graduation, we will take the family over to watch track. Going to the track meet on sat will entail putting on jeans or something else...I just do not see track and graduation as something many families will consider complementary.

Going to the track meet on sat will entail putting on jeans or something else...I just do not see track and graduation as something many families will consider complementary. why not funnel graduation activities to the track meet... there is a graduation picnic on the lawn in front of morrison.. but what is it to do in front of morrison except watch cars go by... are there valid points in your comments.. yes there are.. but you never know.. you get a crowd at the track meet & some of them may like it & may become track enthusiast from here on out... orrr... you may have people at graduation who are sports jocks like me... for them the track meet is perfect... instead of meeting people all day... they can relax in their element at a high level athletic event... all i'm saying to administration is try.. try something diffrent & try to get people to patronize your actions... i'm sure having a big crowd to perform in front of at aggie stadium would be a welcome sight for the athletes themselves... |

just passing by aggie stadium on my way home & guess what... ??... region 3 national jr. olympics track meet is going on... it will last thurs-sun... thats 7-8-10 thru 7-11-10... why doesn't the city advertise these events... ... there are going to be over 3000 athletes again in g'boro... why doesn't a&t utilize that ford message board to announce these events... if i had not taken another route on my way home... i would have missed this event completely... WILL SOMEBODY HELP A BROTHER OUT...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... PLEASE....... you just don't how many people i've run into since the ncaa regionals here in g'boro who said they knew nothing about the regionals being held at a&t... SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE...!!!!!!!... TRACK MEETS OF THIS MAGNITUDE GENERATING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO THIS AREA & NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT... ??... SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG... |

while at the east regionals i got the chance to talk to coaches from diffrent schools... they really liked the idea of a&t hosting the regionals... they thought this would put a&t in line of hosting the nationals... all of the coaches i talked to said this... track meets of this magnitude should be held at a&t...!!!!!!!!!!! one coach from the sec went 1 step farther... he asked the question... why doesn't a&t put the resources in their track program in order to make a&t a track power... ?... he stated... that there is no reason in the world why a&t cannot be in D-1 track & field... what st.aug is in D-11 track & field...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is a powerful statement from someone not affilliated with a&t... why don't we have this kind of thinking from our leaders in dowdy... ? |
