jazz, i don't know this for sure, but somehow i get the impression that the recruits already know who the new head coach will be. the media and us don't know who the recruits are, and they've probably been advised not to discuss the new head coach publicly until after the announcement has been made. that's what i think is going down... Whispers in the wind, Oleschool, you and I live and die A&T so to speak but I doubt the parents of the recruits have that same feeling of trust that you have in A&T or Rags. Now, I'm a father of a very good football player and Ragsdale sits in my livingroom and make promises about who the headcoach will be and I am thinking why the wait. Tell me why the wait and none of Ragsdale's answers will make any sense to me as a father whose son is being recruited by other schools where the whole staff is in place. wow! jazz, i'm astonished! that's not good. i'm blown away. man, are we that inept? i guess i'm really in denial if so. who knows what the problem is? 'cause i don't have a clue! that's very disheartening. we're either very incompetent, disfunctional or there's some serious squabbling going on behind the scenes...

Politics & money; you only have so much to spend on a staff and until Lee signs his contract then the rest of the money is up in the air. HC, OC, DC {If Necessary}, Asst HC, are the positions to be paid the most. How can you fill a staff until all of the other stuff is done. The staff will be complete but will it be what we need to be an upper echelon team? Recruits will come if we show we're serious!!!!

Bringing back Odums tells me what type of coaches Lee wants to surround himself with. People who have been in the trenches before on this level, who are mean as hell, and will tell you're not cutting it and who don't mind getting in your face to let you know about it. He's looking for toughness as a prerequisite.
There will be no popularity love fest going on any longer during the off season or in spring practice. Nice guys finish last or next to it. That's not Lee's style by any standard.

If Odums is d-line coach, who's coordinating the defense? pleasedon'tsayLeepleasedon'tsayLeepleasedon'tsayLeepleasedon'tsayLee... I don't think it would be so bad if he chose to go that route. Unlike Fobbs, at least he has experience as a coordinator. It also could mean more $$ to apply toward a truly good offensive coordinator.

I’m of the opinion that Head Coach is a full-time job, and Defense Coordinator is a full-time job, especially for a first time coach on a team lacking the ability to manage the details. It would even seem more critical for him to focus on team issues during Spring Ball and preseason workouts. Why do you think it is remotely acceptable for Coach Lee to dedicate his time to the defense week in and week out? Because of his experience as a DC, the defense would need less direct oversight, thereby freeing up his time to concentrate on our deficiencies of the past season, or the breakdowns of the past game. Where is he going to get the time to prepare the defense, and then prepare the team? If this is another Dee Todd money saving idea, then expect the worst.

Not to mention, Odoms has proven a capable coordinator. Giving tidbits is one thang, but coordinating the d is another.

Bigboy,
Why the suspense, at least, Wheeler should announce when the press conference will be. Our Athletic Department is looking bad...................

Any word on the entire staff? Will he have a complete staff or be short some coaches and have to depend on Grad. Assts. to coach? Just wondering, and will the staff be at the news conference/
