The one common theme I've noticed as a casual observer of this situation over the last few weeks is everyone believes that you guys must have a coach that is familiar with NC in order to bring in quality recruits from in state. Take a second and think about this.....NC is obviously rich with football talent, but does it really compare with the quantity or quality of football players in the state of TEXAS? In fact, is there a state known more for shunning those from outside of their state than texas high school football coaches?
I ask these questions, because I have heard Henry Frazier speak at a few coaching clinics and one of the things that stuck out to me was he mentioned the fact that before he came to interview for PVAMU's head coaching position he had never even been to the state of TEXAS before and all he knew about PVAMU was the infamous 80 game losing streak. Somehow, despite this he has managed to build a team that now has a core of players who are from the greater Houston area and sold recruits on his philosophy and the opportunity to turn a program around and become a part of something special. And he has delivered on the promise...as someone said on another post, this man has turned Prairie View, yes that Prairie View into a team that has won 14 of their past 16 games and has beaten so-called powers Jackson State and Southern U 4 out of the past 6 games. And someone please research the difference in facilities and resources between Prairie View and other "elite" black college programs....in this case MIRACLE WORKER may be an understatement! And I have friends who played for the guy at Bowie and they can not say enough good things about him!
