I agree aggieman. ODU is embracing the series. IMO, Elon never did.

ODU Norfolk State rivalry will be good for both schools. Will force Norfolk State to raise the Bar if they want to compete w ODU ODU is in a better neighborhood and will have better facilities. If they can keep some of that talent from riding the benches at UVa and Va. Tech, their rival won't be Norfolk State, their rival will be William & Mary, and the Spartans will just be that Black school across town with the great marching band.

Elon was not the one that ended the series, I believe we did (or Dee Todd did). Correct me if I am wrong. I know their fans did not embrace attending their games at A&T like we did at their place but it was a win-win situation for both school being that both schools saved big on travel cost. It's not a sure thing that ODU will embrace attending games on NSU campus. On a side note, NSU played all of their home games at ODU before NSU built their stadium a few years ago.

ODU is embracing the series. Not entirely, ODU is waiting until they can be full strength before battling Norfolk State. In fact ODU will stay away from any 1AA HBCU, unless it's A&T, until they feel strongly they can win. Race matters to college alumni and donors, even when the players are the same color and race.
