I believe the Jacksons once made a song about our radio broadcast. You might have heard it. I think the marching band still plays it a lot during football games. Can you feel it?

I'd have to say it was pretty bad today.

Yes, we must be absolutely broke. D. Todd hopped her tail in a nice car in CA this past week and left the others starving, waiting (& waiting, & waiting) for transportation from LAX to the hotel!
I guess it takes $$ to be the kind of A.D. who acts like they give a da#n about the rest of the department. We can take cheerleaders out of class for a trip 2500 miles away & tell them their meals are covered. When the jacked-up itinerary falls apart, the A.D. doesn't mind leaving them (and others) behind??!
While our announcers' performance really stinks, it's not half as pissy as the attitude of our A.D.

Now realistically, what was she supposed to do? Sit around and add to the food and hotel bill? My guess (and it's a guess) is that her travel and accomodations were seperate from the team's. The classic organizers probably flew the team out and the school flew her out (again, a guess). If my guess is correct, what are we blaming her for?
Further on the topic, I swear the broadcast team doesn't bother me. Mel's a good straight man imo and Billy's hilarious. Granted, they ain't John Madden but only John Madden is.

DOOMS, I understand D.T. wasn't supposed to grab hands and sing Cumbaya with the people who were azz-out; however, a little concern goes a long way. Please place yourself there and see how you would have felt (not eating for 10 hours, etc). I would say her behavior on the trip was quite indicative of her lack of concern for many things and general inability to handle the logistics of large events/tasks. So what if the promoters supposedly arranged the "itinerary?" Who's JOB was it to follow up on our arrangements?!

Sorry, I've just been frustrated with the direction of Aggie Athletics under this lady for a while now. Back to the topic at hand, does anyone think Mel & Billy might consider stepping aside and coming back to be "guest" commentators from time to time...since this is volunteer work anyway? Perhaps they would accept a nice, friendly arrangement like that. They could provide the comedic portion of the broadcast. Like Steve's nephew on The Steve Harvey Show or Jay & Sybil on Tom Joyner...

I would've felt hungry if I hadn't eaten for 10 hours. I'm just saying I wouldn't have been less hungry sitting there with her.
I pretty much don't have the greatest opinion of Dee but I feel like I have more than enough reason for it without piling on. I really don't know whether it was her job to follow up or whether it was the promoter's job. I would think it would be the promoter's job.
I also don't know whether she boarded the plane thinking her kids would be on a plane right behind her, or maybe she offered to stay and they told her to go ahead, or maybe she had a non-refundable ticket that she paid for out of her own pocket, or maybe she had an ill family member she had to attend to...
You see what I mean? You just never know until you know.
Whenever a problem pops up that seems to be her doing I just remind myself that we went after her. I'm sure she was very comfortable working with the ACC and I'm sure the support structure was a lot better than it is at A&T. There wasn't a whole lot on her resume that said she was a perfect fit to run an underfunded athletic department with inflated expectations.
No need to apologize though, I understand your frustration and I understand what you're saying. I've just been in enough situations where I was blamed for stuff that was out of my control to give her the benefit of the doubt on this one. I don't think for one minute she just doesn't care.
I must be the only dude out there that ain't bothered by the broadcast team. I guess I'm really just used to hearing them and I've grown fond of them.

My child was on that trip, DOOMS. And I'm pissed. He*l no, she didn't offer to stay AND I doubt she pays for squat out of her own pocket. You trust a promoter 100% like you trust your accountant 100%. YEAH RIGHT.
Hey, at least Chancellor and Mrs. Battle were engaging with everyone else. They didn't act like they were above common folk. A++ for Dr. Battle!!
I'm fond of Mel & Billy, also. Just not as announcers on our game broadcast. Can we puhleez put them on the jazz fusion hour, they can intro the records. See, there's a place for everybody. And, I appreciate your willingness to consider business, all sides and all people. Perhaps you would make a better A.D. (?).
I wonder if the promoter (Fleming, last sentence) is a friend of Todd's:
Travel delays plague A&T football team By Rob Daniels Staff Writer Monday, Sep. 10, 2007 10:32 am Plagued by logistical delays beyond its control, the N.C. A&T football team finally returned home today -- nearly 24 hours late.
The Aggies, who lost to Prairie View A&M on Saturday in the Angel City Classic, were scheduled to get back on Sunday but were informed their charter flight would not be available until today. The charter service said today that American Trans Air, the carrier and operator of the plane, experienced multiple mechanical issues.
"It was just one of those things that can happen when you're trying to move people with machines," said Kim Butorac, president and CEO of Premier Charter Network, which is based in Castle Rock, Colo.
The difficulties impact players' academic schedules and compromise preparations for this Saturday's home game against Hampton, the defending MEAC champion.
The game, the second annual Angel City Classic, is administered by Black Educational Events of Irving, Texas. Attempts to reach organizer John Fleming III were unsuccessful this morning. Todd and Butorac said Fleming's company ran an efficient operation and had no control over the delays.

If dude's a friend of Todd's, who needs enemies?
When I see this fiasco I'm reminded of the botched Chicago game with Alcorn that turned into us going down to Mississippi with no return trip. It seems like we get the short end of the stick sometimes on these things. I would blame inexperience with dealing with promoters but Todd had no problem dealing with the guys that ran the Aggie-Eagle classic.
At this point I think she's just looking for ways to get some money. Of course that has nothing to do with alleged dismissing of alumni and leaving the team stranded. I would blame not speaking to folks primarily on the knowledge that folks don't like her and have the nerve to demand a winning program while not giving to the program. That don't make it right. It's kinda like that old Chris Rock joke about O.J. I ain't saying I would do it, I'm just saying I understand.
I'm also thinking somebody had to get back and try to square the classwork issues facing all these players as a result of missing at least one additional day of classwork. My guess it would be her. Again, I don't think she just ain't even care and rolled out just because she could, no matter what we think of her skills.
Me? A.D. Sure, if you want to be back in the CIAA.
But you have a right to be pissed. And for more than just this. I don't have a personal Aggie in this fight.

I can't speak for anyone else, but Dee Todd has always been warm and inviting to me. There have been times when I dropped by her office unannounced and she sat there and chatted with me for damn near 2 hours.
Hell, she has even offered to baby sit my son whenever me and the wife want to catch a movie or something. That's why I now call her Aunt Dee.
That may be neither here nor there, but that just my personal take.
