i became a so called legacy season ticket holder when a&t left the meac, that's when i stopped contributing to the aaf. i will continue to purchase season tickets but i will gladly give up my 2 seat locations if it means having to re-join the aaf to keep them. i got a letter in the mail a couple of months ago regarding this new policy but it ain't gonna force me to re-join the aaf unless a&t re-joins the meac. i can tolerate being moved to another seat. heck, i don't know if my seats are very desirable to other folks anyway... I joined the AAF because they left the MEAC, the MEAC had a lack of vision, innovation, and was more loyal to ppl than the schools. I'm glad A&T left and will glady donate more to counter act the plague of old school thinking that's holding our schools back. holding back? you can't be serious! our "overall" athletic department was in much better shape as members of the meac! what happened to our multi-year "top 5" nationally ranked "men's and women's" track program? what happened to our "championship caliber" football program? what happened our "national football tv exposure" via the celebration bowl along with $1 million bucks 4 out of 5 seasons totaling $4 million? and what happened to our defending championship division men's basketball team? all of that above occurred while in the meac. yeah, we're better off in the caa alright...

We would be nationally ranked in track if Ross had stayed, you admitted that on previous posts. Being in the MEAC did not help us become nationally ranked. Our championship caliber football program was on a rapid decline and was only a HBCU championship program which isnt saying much. There is no guarantee that we would be in the Celebration Bowl...that is an assumption and cannot be guaranteed every year. We were not MEAC champions in basketball, our last championship was in 2013...no need to make things up. The division title is not anything to brag about...we beat 3 underfunded teams to claim a title...lol. Overall record was 7-1 lol, haha

Jones did beat 3 teams, not much to be excited about Apr 21, 2024 at 5:42pm oleschoolaggie said: tried to tell folk when coach ross left that we "will not" be returning to the top 5 nationally, much less the "top 2". not that i didn't wanna see that happen, but i'm just "realistic". i don't believe in unjustifiably hyping stuff up to falsely raise folks' expectations. so i'm always gonna give it to you "straight" with no chaser, whether good or bad. that being stated, i think coach johnson has done a really good job rebuilding our program so far. gone are my expectations for a nationally "top 5" program, but not gone are my expectations for a conference championship program...

I won't regurgitate aggie2039 points since he already hit the nail on the head but I'd add that I'm more interested in seeing A&T compete well Nationally vs dominating the HBCU circuit. A National championship is better to me than the Celebration bowl. Even fbs is moving away from bowl games to larger playoff format like fcs. CAA is a harder conference with a better athletic and academic brand, so there will be growing pains, I support the vision, onwards and upwards.

Now that we have a collective, do we have a mechanism to get the word out to the masses via TV/radio/Twitter/IG/Facebook??

You already know the answer to that question. The only platform that will be promoting the NIL collective is this site.

I was at a fraternity party in Belmont last night and one of the guests mentioned that he has seen me on Blue Death Valley. Shocked the heck out of me! So, people are watching. Maybe "we" need to make an all-out push to expand the viewership of Blue Death After Dark. I've got over 700 email addresses in my data base of Aggies and friends of A&T and I'm sure there are folks with similar lists. If we could build your mailing list significantly, we may be able to expand our NIL potential. Just a thought.
