Homecoming is a special time when friends and alumni come back to visit their alma mater, rekindle relationships with friends and remember the good old days. That is specially true this year as Hampton welcomes longtime rival North Carolina A&T to Armstrong Stadium. The Pirates and Aggies have tangled 37 times and the series dates back to 1909. Hampton leads the series by a 27-18-2 margin and the Pirates have won nine of the last 12 meetings including a 30-9 victory over the Aggies in 2021, the last meeting between the teams. Breaking down Hampton's 102-player roster: Freshmen - 46 (45.1%) Sophomores - 18 (17.6%) Juniors - 13 (12.7%) Seniors - 9 (8.9%) Graduate - 16 (15.7%) For the rest of the story: hamptonpirates.com/documents/2023/10/24/Game_Notes_HU_vs_NCA_T_Hoco.pdf

Hampton has a fan zone as well. Seems like more schools are adopting this strategy?

Thats a very young Pirate team. Is our team breakdown FR/SO heavy too?

Should be a great gameday atmosphere...That said, I'm a realist...and if my Aggies can't get our offense up and running the Pirate are gonna party off and on the field.

I've been hearing they are down quite a few key players, like their starting QB and top 2 RBs. But if they are truly healthy I think we may not have a shot as they will be up for this game coming off two beatdowns.

My crazy prediction is that our offense has a breakout game and we spoil the Pirates' Homecoming.

Hampton couldn't stop Monmouth RB had over 280 yd. against them. Everyone is looking for passing yds. over 100 for A&T. I am looking for 2 guys to go over 100 yds. in rushing and have some long TD runs.

I feel like we regressed somehow against Richmond smh.

Play to your strengths and get what you can from your weaknesses on offense ?
Our run game is our strongest assessment at this time on the offensive side this far . Pound them with our O line unit and backs .
Most O linemen will tell you that they would rather run block and attack and crush people then wait to be attacked like in the passing game . Don't get twisted both techniques are important, but O linemen are more confident and comfortable in the attack mode.
As my Cousin Dooms would say " Run the damn ball down there throats" ,when that happens the passing game should open .
Also 3,4 to 5 at a pop is a lot better then wasting a play passing . Make to defense make a choice in short yardage stack the box or play the pass . If you can't stop the run the passing should be easy .

My crazy prediction is that our offense has a breakout game and we spoil the Pirates' Homecoming. Hey you said it... "crazy prediction." Can we beat Hampton? Sure, we can beat them. Will we beat them? Probably not. I tried to be like Jessie and "Keep hope alive," but I think the team and the players are all done. I think there are some senior leaders on the defensive side (BJ Turner) that are still trying to turn this season around, but I think our offense has said "F*CK It!"

I think there are some senior leaders on the defensive side (BJ Turner) that are still trying to turn this season around, but I think our offense has said "F*CK It!" I hope that is not the case on the offensive side. Because no Coach wants players /player that will not fight to the end . Some will come up with and excuse to why the players did this or that . But a coach can't give a player character and the individual will to fight regardless of the situation. This is one of those situations. Like the Coaches a lot of these athletes are being evaluated by HC and may are not be back next season based off their evaluation from the next few games of this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see alot of individuals in the TP at seasons end off of the offensive side and it want be because of the OC but because there scholarships aren't going to be renewed. So let them pack it in if they want to . Coach Brown is watching the athletes as much as the staff . "Those Quiet Ones are the ones you have to watch" as my father would say RIP 🙏.
