Exactly. Plus like I said before, you can pretty much forget about having an all-gold wearing crowd at homecoming. That is, unless Sean John releases a new Aggie Pride line this fall.

Texas A&M is probably the standard bearer: Maroon Out began in 1998 when the Cornhuskers of Nebraska visited Kyle Field. The previous December, the Aggies played Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game. Unfortunately the Ags came up short, but an idea was forming in the mind of Class of 2000 Junior President Kyle Valentine. He and a group of friends noticed how united the Nebraska fans seemed dressed in solid red. Valentine suggested a "Maroon Out" to unite all Aggies and beat the Cornhuskers and their fans. They wanted to offer maroon shirts for Aggies who did not have one. Since the goal was to create a uniting event and not to make money, the shirts were priced at $5 each. On October 10, 1998, the Ags beat Nebraska before going on to secure the Big 12 Championship and a Sugar Bowl appearance. maroonout.tamu.edu/history.html

The Carolina Pathers calls theirs the Growl Towel. But would they have a copywright on calling it that? If so, Pete Richardson is pretty cool and very approachable. He's familiar with who the Aggies are and probably would give the okay for the university to use the phrase but I don't think that would be necessary.

We had a growl towel back in the early 90s. My old roommate bought one from the bookstore.

IM ON IT GUYS.. !!! Thanks for the input. Weve tried to get Skip to do stuff before. Why dont some of you consumers put some pressure on people you do business with to get me some towel sponsors. Im talking to a few people and hopefully they will be a part. Cause as we alllll know.. MONEY is the issue around here and if i have to buy them i cant buy but so many..

Try contacting McDonalds on Summit Avenue. I covered this local talent show called Triad Idol for the Carolina Peacemaker and they were a major sponsor for that event. The main McDonald executive who came on stage was some 40-year-old black guy. If they can spend cheese sponsoring that crap then they can surely throw some money behind the Aggie Rags.
BTW: Skip Alston now has, not one, but two resturants on East Market. One directly across from Blueford. Tell him he needs to start spending some advertising dollars with A&T or we will start a picket line against his cheap azz.
